love my buster

it took me almost 2 years to house break my dachsund. he goes out now but we have to keep puppy pads down at night. he goes on them when he cant go out. which is much better than going on the rug. my problem with him really is his barking! do you guys have the same problem? it is usually at something but he goes on forever. and he hates my dad. i love him though.

I have a miniature dachshund that is 6 1/2 years old and love him to pieces! He is a barker though! He will stop if I tell him No and Point at him, but if I don't then he will just go on and on. He is very protective. He does not like strangers coming to the door or people that are not always around him coming in the house. He is wonderful though!

I have a miniature dachshund that is housebroken. I leave him in the kennel during the day and he sleeps in bed with me at night without any accidents. The way I trained him is keeping him in the kennel during the day because then whatever mess he made he had to live in until I came home to clean it up. He decided holding it is more pleasant! I no longer have to give him daily baths or clean his kennel each time I come home. Have you considered kennel training? It's a security for the dog as well as a God-send for the owner!
