i personally recommend Dell laptop. Dell computers are probably a better buy for the money. Dell’s unique direct-to-customer approach cuts out the middleman, hence passing the savings on to the customer. I would believe that Dell also has better product quality just based on the fact that each computer is built to order instead of Compaq’s mass production of the same computer. Delivery speed is really quicker when going through a reseller because you can go get your computer right when you buy it. With Dell you order it and have to wait until it is delivered to your house.

I think the best one's depend on how much of the equipment is originally made by the same brand. I know that HP and Dell does not manufacture the motherboard. They are made by other manufacturers. By my Experience, Sony VAIO and Toshiba are the best. They are solid and reliable and owns their own technology and design and components. ASUS is also a good one but I have not used yet. ASUS have a series of Laptops at different price ranges. The highest called Lamborgini. I believe this brand is also good because they make laptop motherboards of several other renowned products as well.

You can try hp compaq 6400. Now I am using the laptop for about half a year, it works very good. But a little disadvantage is its lack of fire wire cable. I also have a sony hdr-hc3 handycam, but without the cable, the movies on the handycam tape can't be transferred to the compute, as far as I know, dell inspiron 6400 has that cable. So I plan to buy one to pull the movie to the computer

Well if you ask me them it is not always that the brand which is an important but we have two research the market to understand which brand is selling the most because it may tell you one thing no matter how costly laptop can be it is bound to get defective or it will give you some problem or the other after a few days and mostly it happens when you warranty is out. And when you want to change something in your laptop it gets very heavy on your pockets because even a small hard disk for the laptop costs around double it will cost you a desktop hard disk. so I would recommend you using the company boost spears are of very easily available and are not very costly. Companies like Sony gives a very good laptops with looks and features but when you have replaced something even your charge it will not cost you less than 2000 INR that is home Indian currency. Whereas if you go for a compact will cost you around 600 to seven ended Indian currency. And this is very important because not all are blessed with a lot of money on heavy pockets.

In my opinion Compaq laptops would probably be classified as the worst. and Toshiba / Dell being at the higher end. The toshiba tecra m2v I just recieved from a friend was very abused...but still running like new. I also still have a newer truebrite screen toshiba (forget the model), and it has been running great for about 2 years now with no problems at all. As for the dell inspiron 1100 I just recieved today, I am very mad that it has some different style power plug because usually I just used older power supply's I had laying around to test laptops. I have had one problem with dell, when the screen just stopped working one day but it did boot up. SO MORAL OF THE STORY: NEVER NEVER NEVER BUY CELERON PROCESSOR unless you plan on selling to computer illiterate people. Celeron performance is horrible, and also In my opinion stick to Toshiba brand. best way is to check out review on what ever laptop you are buying.
