Do you easily cry when you're watching sad movies?

I do, much to my husband's amusement. I'm a sucker for these sad movies and you have to hand me a box of tissues when I'm finally glued to one. And to make it much more heartbreakingly sorrowful, is the kind of background music used.
Sometimes there are movies that I have watched that was so sad the entire time. And that I just cry with them the whole time, too.

I'm a movie buff, but I don't go that much on theaters anymore. I just try to wait for them on cable channels, maybe buy them on DVD when released for collection for either rent them on video rental stores.
I am not that much into drama or sad movies, because I choose the theme and also the actors in it. Most of the movies that I love watching are movies by, Robin Williams. I find his films feel-good, but also written in good story. I love the way he did in "Good Will Hunting" together with MAtt Damon, "What Dreams May Come" along side Cuba Gooding, Jr. and also "Patch Admas."
I like the way Robin Williams make me laugh, but also he is good in making me cry and touch my heart.

I like Robin Williams too and I absolutely loved "Patch Adams". I also gave a good cry in that movie. A truly heart-warming movie. Actually, I was watching another Robin Williams movie on cable but I didn't get to finish it because I drifted off to sleep. He portrayed a psychologist who helped catatonic patients.

That's right. Robert de Niro was one of the catatonic patients. I've actually seen the movie before but I couldn't remember the ending anymore. I've seen "What Dreams May Come", too, and this was yet another heart-breaking movie. Almost all of Robin Williams films are really good and gives a very good moral story.

Oh man, I actually try to avoid watching movies that I know to be mushy, overly romantic or with sad endings as I know I'll have a headache from crying my eyes out by the end of the film. Today I was buying an engagement card for a friend and the mushy lines in the cards on display even brought tears to my eyes! I can't believe what a wimp I am. For this reason too, I even avoid going to the cinema so it doesn't turn into a swimming pool from my floods of tears LOL! My husband also finds it amusing but does get rather worried when I can't stop crying for ages!

Oh, anonymili, you made me laugh!^_^ I just absolutely loved your response. Especially the part where you avoid going to the cinema.
About the cinema, if I really can't help but cry too. But I make sure that I wipe my tears as quickly as possible. I don't want others to think I'm a cry baby!

Hello jcj. I have to say that sad movies always make me cry. I find that it is hard for me to keep my tears from rolling down when I watch sad movies, especially when it comes to those touching parts. Though I try to avoid tears from rolling down, they just roll as they come. I don't know why it is like this...

Hi william. Just like you, when it comes to those heavy drama scenes, there must be a tissue just within my reach. I guess, we're more emotional compared to others who seems to be untouched with these kind of scenes.

I like to watch great movies and I did have my share of crying most especially when the movie is nice. Though I do not easily cry.. It really takes a very sentimental and emotional movies for my tears to come out... But I do cry. It depends on the kind of movie and of course the story.

My brother who is a large man, can't stop his tears, too. But this rarely happens for he seldoms watch these sad movies. And when he does, we tease him about it. But as he tells us, there's nothing wrong in seeing a man in tears. It's human nature. Unlike you, though, I'm easily moved with those sentimental scenes. Sometimes, the characters haven't spoken yet but I already have tears rolling down my face because of the emotional background music.

I always cry when I watch sad, sappy movies. I think it's because I really lose myself to the movie. I try to get into the story so that I would enjoy most of it. I guess that's also how I measure if a movie is good or not - if I am able to feel most the story, then I think it's good. If I don't feel touched at all, then I think it's badly made :)
Thanks for the response on my discussion!

Hi oyenai! I'm sorry for the late reply.
I completely agree with you on that. There are times I ask myself if I will always cry everytime there's a sad movie. But no. There were movies that my tears just can't stop from falling and there were movies that did not affect me at all.
There were movies that I've seen that the characters didn't have to move their lips, to make me cry. Just the emotion from their faces was enough to make me cry a river!

Oh lord yes, I am the biggest crybaby when it comes to sad movies. It does not even take a sad movie to have the tears rolling. I cry at Disney movies as well. I mean do not even get me started on the Fox and the Hound, it still kills me they could not stay best friends, LOL.
Anyway it is nothing anymore to hit a sad point in a movie and my youngest whom is 8 will get up and go get the toilet paper and hand it to me. I mean if that doesn’t tell ya something.

Oh yeah I will cry at sad movies. Sometimes my hubby will look at me just to see if I'm crying at a sad part during the movie. LOL

Your husband just wants to check up on you. My husband does that sometimes, you know. And I get a little embarassed because I know for sure he'll start making fun of me. But there was a time that I saw him get teary-eyed when we watched a very sad movie. When I accidentally looked at him and found him wiping his eyes, I laughed so hard because here was my husband, who makes fun of me when I cry at sad movies, only to end up getting teary eyed too!

Hi laurika. I'm like you when it comes to a certain movie that I really liked. I tend to think about it for a few days more, relieving some of the scenes that I like the most. At least, you don't have to worry about ruined make-up when you're at the cinema.^_^ That's why I never put on a mascara when I know for sure it's a sad movie that I'll see at the cinema. I don't want to end up looking like a raccoon!LOL

Usually I don't cry when I saw a sad movie :) But in movies like Titanic I do. I like to watch drama movies, in general.

Titanic.....I remember that I cried in that movie, too. The scene that really moved me to so much tears was when they were waiting to be rescued and Jack told Rose to not sleep. And when, Rose tried to wake Jack but only to realize he didn't have the strength to fight the cold anymore.
