How many saw the movie last night on CMT for the first time? I know it has traveled around the country for showings in select cities, and was kinda following the NASCAR racing circuit this summer, but for many of us our first chance to see the movie was last night on CMT. It will be on again tonight at 8 i think as an encore, and knowing CMT they will be showing it off and on for a good while. The Dale Jr. 60 minutes thing just reaired a few nights ago, I'm sure in preparation for "DALE." But what did yall think if you saw the movie. It was a bit sad but very awesome in my eyes. It let on a whole new side to the man. Maybe you saw the movie "3" starring Barry Pepper as Earnhardt that ESPN endorsed (and by the way, ESPN needs to step up and get a real clue about NASCAR, and racing broadcasting and commentating...but anyways). "3" was a story line and depicted a sort of rags to riches, yet hateful intimidating Earnhardt and was not endorsed necessarily by the Earnhardt family. "Dale" on the other hand is actual footage, and an actual interview. I would love to know when that actual interview is from with Dale standing out by the lake fishing because it is very very awesome and very fitting. It's amazing how they talked about some things at that point in time that are awesome to watch now that he's gone, it's like the interview was so well it was almost planned to serve as a memory after his passing. It was obviously pre 1998 as it talks about not having won the Daytona 500 yet and stuff, but it was just amazing. And all the footage of old times and interviews with other drivers, family, friends, etc., just phenomenal. It showed the lighter side of Earnhardt, and the Earnhardt I truly believe that everyone who really knew him knew him as. As America we watched the Intimidator on the track, but you can see the ones that really knew him personally saw his lighter side and saw a caring and compassionate man who's first love was racing, but who found love and passion in family and came up from nothing and not only made himself something in a fame and fortune route, but made himself a man of integrity and a really good role model.
