Do things you say to people come back to haunt you?

I tell alot of things to my mom and most of the time she will come back and try and make me feel guilty about whatever she can make an issue.I guess it's my own fault for feeding her information.

I just don't give people the opportunity. I am very quiet about what is going on, to my family, but I am very vocal about what is going on, in the presence of those I trust. I have no problem telling my friends, but I often don't tell my family until "after" and there's nothing they can say to change things.
