Foods & treatment for Gout

Recently my dad is experiencing Gout on his left elbow.His uric acid level is at 8 which is very high for normal people.I am so worry of him because he shows no sign of recovery.Do you know any remedies,recipe,or foods that bring beneficial to this illjavascript:__doPostBack('ctl00$cphMainContent$lbStart','') start discussionness?All advices give are much appreciated.

mix 100ml of beet juice and 100 ml cucumber juice with 300ml carrot juice. Take it daily

yea..i make it daily for my dad.i see fruit juice is a MUST ..Anymore tips? what are the foods to be avoided?

I got the best information for my Mom at: www.health911.com/remedies/rem_gout.htm Gout is rare for women, but she developed it after heart bypass surgery. She swears by the dark cherries... the medicines made her sick, and she'd rather use a natural source for relief, anyway. Hope this helps your father... its a miserable disease!

thank you so much for the link. I'm looking for such site for some information about GOut.My dad hates to take medicine so he preferred natural source too.Im thinking of cooking some healthy foods for him too eat.i need some recipe.Thanks again for the info :)

Its a good idea to stay away from processed meat... ham, bacon, sausage, hot dogs, etc. These ALWAYS made Mom have an attack... go with fresh meats and veg and fruit.
