Do You Look Like The Members Of Your Family?

When I was a little girl, my sisters and I favored a lot more, so I do not know why they wuld tease me and say that my mother found me on the doorstep. To add insult to injury they changed my last name. Unfortunately, now I look like I was found on a doorstep. Accept for my height and build, I look nothing like my sisters and they look like twins. People look at me as if to say, you are lying and you know you are lying, when I tell them who my sisters are. We have the same mom and dad, but somehow, I look like a stranger. Who do you favor in your family?

I look alot like my Dads family, and my twin sister looks a lot like my moms family, but then again some family members say I look like my mums sisters. I suppose it depends on who sees whom through me!

I understand that completely. My sister has triplets consisting of two girls and a boy. One of the girls looks more like her and the other looks more like the dad.

The Triplets - This is a professional piture that the triplets took at the mall one Christmas. I forgot how old they were.
They are going to be fifteen in November. They have always been very well behaved and sweet.

My sister and me - I darkened my hair to be more like the sisters. It is really a medium brown/auburn shade. This is my sister and me.
I am the outcast! My mother and father had black curly hair. My sisters and brother have black curly hair. I had a brown/auburn shade and my hair was pin straight. I totally stuck out because my skin was much paler than the others. I was much, much thinner. I just didn't fit in. I even started thinking I was adopted or that maybe I had a different father. But as time passed, I was at my dad's senior's apartment and found a pic of his mother, my grandmother, when she was around my age. Holy cow, we could have been twins! Everyone was shocked at the resemblance (she had passed on long ago), especially me. I guess I got my pale skin and straight hair from my dad's Irish side and everyone else got the Lebanese side skin and hair. I got the famous Lebanese nose though! lol. It's funny because my life, illnesses, woes, etc, mimic my father's to a T while my sisters' mimic my mother's. I was the smartest in the family like my dad. They were average like my mom (she was smart just not like Dad was). I guess I just got more DAD genes than everyone else and it isn't a GREAT thing but now I see my mom and my dad in me. I still don't look like my sisters though except we all have brown eyes. Otherwise, I am still thinner, taller, straight lighter haired (I even make it darker to fit in. I used to perm it, too) and just different from them. My sons, however, look like my mom's side and have curly very dark hair. Haha. I used to hate hate hate when people picked on me for looking different but that's what life is all about, being individual. I am content now. I wish I had been content growing up!

Thank you so much for sharing your story. I saw your picture and I hope I do not offend, but I see what you mean. You guys look like two different nationalities. Don't feel bad about that though. I got the same deal you did. My sisters look so much alike that people get them confused. Of course, being their younger sister, I don't see how people get them confused, but they do. It has always caused me to feel less than. I am happy that you have been able to come to terms with yours, I hope to reach that point some day. It is nice to know that there is hope.

I think a little jealously is normal, just as long as it does not become envy.

No, you don't offend at all. It is so true. I stand out when we go out together because my older sister looks like my younger one and then there's ME. lol. Oddly, my older sister's daughter looks a LOT like me with straight, lighter hair and she looks nothing at all like anyone in the family but my older sister's son looks JUST like everyone else in the family with the black hair and olive skin. I don't feel so alone because my niece (who is almost 30) looks more like my daughter than my sister's. Haha. I don't mind. I love my family and they love me and we are all jealous of the other's traits. :)

I guess or get told I look like my mother now. When I was younger I was told I looked like my father. I look nothing at all like my sister either. We are completly different if no one knew we were sisters they would never guess we are. She is skinny with blond hair. I am overweight with brown hair so I know how you feel.

It is preety rough for me because when I am around them, I feel like I don't belong. Even though they are very loving toward me, when we meet new people, I feel like saying that I am just a cousin or friend. That way, I don't get that she is adopted or lying look from strangers.

My sister and I favor our dad a whole lot, which is crappy because we can't stand him. We also look like our mom too. I am built more like my mom though. My sister is about the same height as me, but she is stick skinny and it kinda makes her look taller than me, if that makes sense. We're both on the short side, but I'm curvy like my mom. My sister and I look alike too, but we looked more like each other when we were younger. I have pictures of me and my sister on my profile.

Oh my goodness, I always wondered what you look like, now I know. Now it is going to be weird. I recognize you by the picture that you use. Now, I will have to say, no that's not her. Of course I knew that you were not a cartoon character, but that is all I had ever seen. You must have felt the same way when you saw my most recent picture. Anyway, your sister and you really do look a lot alike. I wish I favored my sisters that much. You could never deny that she was your sister. That is really cool.

It's great getting to finally see the people you talk to on a nearly daily basis. It makes them seem more real, ya know? Like they're not just people on the Internet.:)

Absolutely...My brothers and I look a lot alike, but my brothers look exactly like eachother (identical twins after all). My sister looks like my father, but there are a lot of similarities in her facial features. Also, my sister and I speak exactly the same...we always get mistaken for eachother on the phone hahaha!!! I wish I knew which parent I favored as far as my looks...I have a lot of my dad's facial features as well as my moms.

I think that it is cool when you take a little bit from each parents looks. It makes you really feel like you belong. Sometimes people look so much alike that it is frightening, and they are not even multiples.

I had to laugh because I was born from the gypsies if you ask my sisters. LOL I am a twin and I do not look like her. My twin sister looks like our older sister. You are not alone when it comes to not looking like your family. My tastes are way different from my sisters also. I do beleive I was borned from the gypsies. LOL

Sisters can be so evil. But, somehow we learn to love them in spitee of all that. I thank God for the two wonderful sisters that he gave me. I appreciate them a lot. Even though they still get on my nerves sometimes, I would not want to live without either one of them.
