How do you deal with praise?

Sometimes we can get praise from others.
Some praise is said frankly and some just court you.
Some make us happy and some make us embarrassed.
Some make us go ahead and some make us back off.
What's the proper way to cope with those confused praise?

it is appreciation, if it is honestly meant. thank the person who praised you and let this be some sort of award that will encourage us to always do the best in what we do.
