If you can solve one problem in your city, what is it?

I think I want to solve the crime problems in my city. As sometimes I don't feel safe to go outside. I don't wear any jewelry because of the serious problem. I always keep alert when I am outside. When you go shopping, be aware of the pickpocket. When you go out of your home, be sure to lock up although it is not enough yet. I hope the crime problem will be solved so that everybody will be happy to live here.

We are pretty safe! But I would love to improve the air and water conditions here. I think they are both very bad and people suffer a lot from nose and skin allergies (including me). So, I really think those two are the pressing issues.

Oh really? *laughs* I thought it would be better there because there is more open space.

I have been to your city, and I think the air pollution is worse here.

If given an opportunity.. I will remove all the encroachments that pose a serious threat to the traffic in my city..Also i will restrict the number of cars that ply on the road.. Becoz this high speeding cars do pose a real threat to the pedestrians..

this is really an interesting question.i like it. if i can solve one problem,i hope it is the house problem of our citizen, ordinary citizens, you know, the price of a house is very high in China, especially in big cities such as Shanghai,Beijing,if there's a way to settle most of people,i think the crime problems and many other problems can be lightened.when someone has home,he/she will do much better in his/her work, and the intention of crime can decrease.

That is true. I heard that nowadays the house price is quite expensive here. It is over 10000 yuan per square metre in Guangzhou. That's just so crazy.

I haven't been to Changsha yet. My husband is from Hunan Province, so perhaps one day I will visit your city and hope the traffic will be improved at that time.

Corruption not only in my city, but also to the whole country. i am from Philippines, and I also believe that corruption is also common to other nations. But this corruption we have only pulls our economy down, making poor families alot poorer. Just like murders and rape, our government sees this as just a common thing here.

I totally agree with you. The corruption has a very bad effect. I hope the officers can use the money for the people' needs. There are many poor people can't even afford the education, health care etc.

Ig I can and I ahve to choose one problem I would want to solve within the city where I live, that would be the problem of "poverty", crimes like snatching and hold-up are often caused by poverty.. I saw in one documentary a father who was caught shoplifting of just "one can of meatlof", he said he didn't want to do it but he can't stand to see his kids starving who have not eaten the whole day. I know its not a good means but if only they are not below the poverty line, I guess they wouldn't even think of that.

It is a good idea to solve this problem. If everybody has a stable income and lives well, then perhaps the crimes will decrease.

My city also has the similar problems like yours. And I think the first thing to get rid of is the crime.

The thing that i would like to change in my city is the dirty roads. It is so annoying when people spit and throw litter in the road. Even if a decree is passed to prevent this, the cops would earn a second living by the bribe money. So, it needs corruption to be solved first and that leads to educating people. It goes like a chain. And one more thing, I just wrote this response instinctively sentence after sentence. So plenty are the problems in my city. No, the whole country.
