congratulations to indian team for this spirited performance in 6th ODI.sachin played great but all credit goes to him for this win????
considering only him as the man of the match was an unjustice with robin uthappa who brought india back into the match and won the match subsequently.and that too all alone....sachin had only one pressure to give a good start which he gave.here robin had a near impossible task.hit the ball to fences or we loose the series to england.he is unexperienced than MS dhoni still he showed the mental toughness which was the demand of that time.so i think along with sachin tendulkar robin too was man of the match.what did you feel?

I do think that Uthappa does deserve accolades for his late assault and for maintaining his cool. But, I do believe that Sachin deserves to be the man of the match, for the kind of start that he gave India.
The end of English innings must have disheartened the whole dressing room. So for Sachin and Ganguly to come out and play the way that they did, must have heartened every one. That gave Uthappa the platform to finish it off in style. I think he deserves all the praise, though I would like to see him consistently do this.
Cheers!

Well, First off I would beg to differ you because man of the match doesnt mean that the individual gets all the credit for the win. A win is joint effort by the entire team. Entire team did a good job and played their part in some manner to give victory to India. Sachin played a crucial role because he gave India a blowing start which they needed badly. Even though, Robin Uthappa made the scoring runs and he held his nerves during the last over but it was Sachin who made the base for the team so that they could go for the win.

I agree that uthappa played a good innings, but remember if sachin hadnt played that gem of an innin gs ,uthappa wouldnt even have had a chance to take india to victory becuase it was his batting that gave india a platform,Sachins duty was to give a good start ,but he indeed do more than that so i think he did deserve the man of the match, uthappa was the man of the moment

Robin Uthappa definitely deserved the MOM award alongwith Sachin but I also felt very sorry for Mascarenhas. What an effort! I am sure that if England has won the match, Mascarenhas would have been declared MOM. I also believe the if the MOM was given to Uthappa, it would have provided a much-required fillip to upcoming players. I mean Sachin needs no incentive as such…the game itself is his inspiration.

I know robin uttapa played very well .
But how can we forget that sachin made the stage for win?
If he initially failed to make it and score 94 off 81, was it had been possible for robin or any other player to win this game.
I also applaud Robin, but I think Sachin is true man of the match.

I agree the man of the match should have been shared between Sachin and Uthapa but dont underestimate Sachins role. In normal circumstances chasing such huge scores India would have been 150 for 5 in 30 overs not 150 for no loss in 20 odd overs. Thanks to Sachin, Uthapa was looking at about 90 odd at 8 runs per over, not 190 odd at 15 runs per over. Let us not say there was no pressure on Sachin.
