WOW! Ok. I am totally taken aback by this. I thought Garth had really done it all, but this is HUGE!!! I have been a Garth fan since I started listening to country music, and actually I'll credit him and his song "The Dance" for the reason I fell in love so deep with country music. Since becoming a fan though I have to say Brad Paisley and some others have become my favorite singers, but then again Garth has not been continually turning out new songs and records. Well, Im sure anyone taking the time to read a Garth Brooks discussion probably has heard the song as it was credited with close to 40 million impressions on radio within the last week. The previous record for debuting a song on the country Charts was Buck Owen's and Kenny Chesney tied Buck just last week by debuting "Don't Blink" at number 16 on the chart. That is amazing in itself, and it would have been shattering the record to even debut a song at 14, 13 because once your that high on the chart every position is awesome, especially when you debut a song. Normally they take a slow climb, and even the best songs can take 2-5 months to hit the number one spot. But Garth like always has shot out of his cannon and debuted at number one. No one can ever top that, I am just still in awe after reading the article and seeing it at www.Billboard.com . Does anyone else watch the charts like I do? what are your opinions of this news and this record that can't never be broken? how do you feel about Garth and the song? I know it was a big deal there were stations here in Nashville promising to play it every hour on the hour for the first couple days after it was released, and they made it a huge deal, but still...WOW!!
