The "Big Threes"

The defending champion spurs have a "big three"--Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili, but now many of their opponents also made a "big three": Steve Nash, Amare Stoudemire and Shawn Marion; Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett; Jason Kidd, Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson, etc. Which one will play a well game, and finally win the championship? I hope the answer is still the San Antonio Spurs.

I think the San Antonio Spurs are in for a repeat considering their big three, their role players and their team chemistry and unselfishness as a whole. They are the most cohesive and veteran among the title contenders. The Phoenix Suns, Dallas Mavericks, Detroit Pistons, Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics loom as the other favorites. Its not just the big names that bring in the championships. Basketball has and will always be a team sport. A few years back the Los Angeles Lakers had Shaq, Kobe, Gary Payton and Karl Malone, a formidable big four on paper, but they eventually lost to the superstar less, team centered and defense oriented Detroit Pistons in the Finals.

A very professional answer, thanks. Actually my question is combined larger part of fun and rest of game intent. Basically, it's more about personal opinion to vote, not contrasts between players or combinations. PS: The Fantasy Four in LAL 2002 was terrfic in faith, which can be proved by having beaten Minnesota Timberwolves with KG, Sam Cassell and Latrell Sprewell. On the other land, pistions had Big Ben, Sheed, Rip, Tay and Finals MVP--Billups, not much of less of superstars.

Hi AkinChilde I'm with you. Even though the other teams have "Big Threes" how many of them play as well as a TEAM, as the Spurs. Most of the Big Three's have a Star. When the Spurs play one of our Big three may star that evening or be fed by the other team members, however, the rest of the team plays smoothly also. "Just my humble opinion"! We also have picked up some new team members that may become super players when on a team that plays as well as the Spurs. The Spurs cultivate Teamwork... Although it will be difficult, I think the Spurs will pick up another Championship.

Hello akinchilde, welcome to mylot! I think San Antonio's "big three" will still play a well game and probably another championship. I agree most team in the NBA right now has their own big tree's, stat's or experienced wise they are equal or might be better than San Antonio's. But time and again San Antonio went up with this teams and still won the championship. :-)
