Greetings my fellow mylot friends. I have a few books of common sayings or perhaps words of wisdom, or maybe just thoughts of the day.
I would like to share one with you and get you feed back as to how it impacts you.
Will you be willing to tell me how the words affected you and possibly your thinking about the affect.
The Saying is:
"Most of our lives are about proving something, either to ourselves or to some one else"

I think that's the real point of life. There's no one we really have to answer to except God, despite what we think. Every human being is just as fragile as you or me and just as prone to making mistakes.

In reality, there is nothing to prove. Who on this earth is qualified to stand and judge us? Who is so important that we have to prove something to them before they will accept us? Just by being present on this earth, we are already approved by the everything (universe or God) that sent us here. None of us need prove anything to anyone. Living without the need or requirement to prove something is the ultimate personal freedom. I like many of the old sayings and truisms, but unless you do some critical thinking about most of them, you will find yourself accepting most of them and sometimes they are not in our best interests.

thank you I was waiting for some one to think out side of the box, and of course you are right, and I even have a few words of wisdom about that "If you find a solution and become attached to it, the solution may become your next problem" and "once you have accepted an idea, it's an idea whose time has come"
Thanks about the picture I just got a web cam and am now trying to learn how to use and down load and what better place to practice. so you will be seeing a lot of different Me's.

How very very true, this is definitely so for me I have proved to myself that I can be strong and confident and I am proud of what I have achieved, I have now made a massive change in my life and I am getting out and starting afresh. I haved proved that I CAN and WILL do it and nothing or no one is going to hold me back!

I feel that is the truth for most people and including for me. I got pregnant before marriage at the age of 18. I had never been to college, and did not want to go to college at the time. When my family found out I was nocked up they gave me all kinds of grief. This was over 30 years ago. My older sister told me that I was not going to make anything of myself and become a fat lazy house wife. Well I showed them. I became an RN supervisor of a sleep lab, which I was making 6K a month. I also have been married to the same man and we will be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary on Monday the father of my baby. My two sisters have both been married and divorced. So I needed to show them and myself that I was not going to let having children early stop me from following my dream of becoming a nurse.

those are true words at least for me any ways. I am always trying to prove I can do something better then_____. I finally decided that proving I can do something better or the same as others does not make that much of a difference in the long term. I have some what stopped compeating with myself and others and now take it at the same pace as others. hugs

I also think like that , and my son has a favorite "how hard can it be" He is willing to tackle just about anything with that attitude. As for me doing as well as or better than some one else It is sure a confidence builder as well standing there and saying "I can't do that" just proves you are right. It isn't necessary for me to always succeed just to know I gave it my best shot will do the trick

Words have the magic. A person who has the ability to use the right words in the right time is like a magician. Words can make people happy and make people sad. Words can turn a person to do good things and do bad things. Words has the power to hurt people. A sucessful person is the person who is able to use correct words at right time. I remember the words from a movie in which Robbins Williams says "Watch your togue young man." Yes we need to watch for words. Words makes us stupid and makes us wise.

Hello there. I feel that the saying is very true. Some of us are motivated by our inner desires and we do things to prove to ourselves that we can do it. Whereas, some of us are motivated by other's opinions of us (or how others see us) and we do things to prove to others.

So true.. Yeah. I have always had bunch of relatives hanging around the house saying " My son Did this"
" my son Did that" .. whateva... and then upon that my parents start getting all worried that I ain't studying and will I be able to stand up in the world.
I usually read short one liners and proverbs from a small collection of pdfs I have.
