How many bags of popcorn have you burned in the microwave?

It never fails, a different microwave, or a new brand of popcorn it will burn!! Then after you smell the
burnt popcorn, you have lost your desire to eat popcorn. I always try to keep it around two minutes
or so, because I like it moist, not dry, so there must be some kernals left in the bottom of the bag
for this effect to take place. I like the extra buttery kind too. But if the air conditioning is too
cold, the popcorn grease will stick to the roof of your mouth.

i agree with you i cant get popcorn to pop right in any microwave we use so it is just not you so dont feel bad

The brand of popcorn makes a difference for how long to pop. I find certain brands are harder to get a good pop without burning some of the bag. The bad part is when you burn the popcorn the smell is so strong that I no longer want to eat popcorn during the movie.

I had a laugh after reading your discussion because just a few days ago I had popped some pop corn in the microwave for four minutes thinking it'll be the same as my old microwave then went outside to take clothes down off the line and came back in and my house was billowing in smoke and the stench of burnt popcorn.... ugh! I have only one small window in my kitchen, a door to the mud room and that's it! So both are open with two fans blowing the smoke out and I decide to try another bag for 3 mintues, well I burnt that one too! Man my house STILL smells of burnt popcorn no matter what spray I use! Hubby comes home from work and says, geeze... did someone burn some popcorn? 2 minutes babe 2 minutes. I told him "Gee, thanks for telling me NOW." And we both got a laugh and I'm still trying to get the smell out and yes I did eat some out of the second bag. It was a pick and throw away situation but I did get some to stave the craving.
