Some says thats one of the signs but for me its better to see you physician before concluding into something else. Has your mom visited a doctor and told her that she was diabetic. Maybe it was just an allergy about drinking water too much maybe it's because of the weather. To be sure just go and see a doctor that will be the best move to do so you will stop worrying.

Hi Grazie - are you Italian or are you just familiar with the language? I like your handle, it is a cute play on words! I didn't realize that I wasn't commenting to one of my own discussions! Oh boy! Anyway, I was going to say BRAVO on your suggestion to this person. Let the Doctor do his or her job, and the rest will work out the way it is meant to!

Well she should be tested for diabetis. My aunt has it and before she would take tablets and test her blood everyday. Now it has gotten worse and she has to give herself an injection everyday. I feel so bad for her. You also have to watch what you eat when you have diabetis.

Hi there. I am (probably) borderline diabetic - as my recent blood sugar tests came back elevated. I am really worried about this for myself, as I already have a lot of chronic health problems that might have caused me to be susceptible to this illness. I've been on steroids (prednisone) for rheumatoid arthritis on and off for 5 years, and if you aren't aware of this, well, prednisone contributes to, if not causes, a person to be diabetic when they've been using it for years...it causes a lot of complications and side-effects, but that is one of the worst ones by far! Your mother should have her blood sugar tested by her Doctor. Have you spoken to her about your concerns, and does she know that you're worried? Maybe she could talk to you, and clear up some of your concerns. One of the symptoms of diabetes is frequent urination, as well as excessive thirst. Skin problems are also a concern for diabetics. You're prone to yeast and bacterial infections because your immune system isn't right, and because diabetes can cause an overgrowth of certain bacteria or fungi in and on the body. Feet are also usually quite sensitive in diabetics. Other than that, you should know that diabetes is a manageable condition, even though it can be very serious, even fatal. Eating well, and exercising are some of the best, non-prescription ways to treat the disease. If your mother is diabetic, you'll need to help support her in maintaining or creating a healthier lifestyle that will keep her disease in check. My advice, however, is just to talk to her about your concerns...find out if she is or not (based on her Doctor's diagnosis). If you're concerned about her health, you should be open and honest about it with her. She could very well just have allergies - after all, a Doctor would know whether or not she was at risk for developing diabetes, and if they were concerned about something specific, then they would do their job and test her sugar.
