Maternity Leave

I was just wondering at how many weeks pregnant do most women take their maternity leave. I am 31 weeks pregnant and I'm a server at a restaurant so I have to stand for long periods of time. I get very exhausted all the time but I feel as though I should continue to work to help out with the finances. If there is anyone else in the same situation as me, I would love to hear how you cope with the pressures of being a server while pregnant.
And how do most women keep up with their finances when they have to take a unpaid maternity leave?

I wasn't a server, but I worked as a cashier at wal-mart when I was pregnant. I worked up until the day I went into labor, I left work in labor. They told me that my maternity leave was at my descretion. They said they couldn't fire me because it's a medical reason for not working. They said the usual is 6weeks but more or less depending on how you feel or what the doctor says. I took 2 weeks and was back to working. We couldn't afford for me not to be. It was very tough working on my feet lifting cases of sodas and large bags of dogfood over the scanner. Most of the people through my line wouldn't even offer to help or anything. I would go home with swelled feet and legs and be so exhausted I didn't know how I would get up. But I always did. It is painful but you can work through it. I have faith. Good Luck!
