Where Do You Pray??

I've always believed that God can hear me no matter where I am...in the shower, lying in bed at night or anywhere. I believe He is with me all the time and therefore can hear me anytime I want to talk or pray to Him. I don't think I have to be in a church to be able to pray. Personally, I say my prayers everynight when I go to bed and I say them in the shower every day.
Do you go to your church? Do you think God will hear you in your shower?

Hi twoey,
I pray everywhere. Yes, God is everywhere and is with us all the time.
My special time with the Lord is at night when I read the Bible and then I get on my knees and talk to Him. I feel the greatest peace then! Dr Charles Stanley says that we are strongest when we are on our knees and I know what he means when he says that.
I receive emails from prayer chains, etc and I bow my head at my computer and pray for the people in need. God is so good and I know that He hears each and every genuine prayer.
God bless you!

I pray everywhere. My whole day is an open ended prayer. I know I'm gonna need to talk to Him more than once, so I just leave it open for further conversation. I pray throughout the day, but I do make it a point to pray at night. It's like a thankful prayer, and kind of reflective.

I pray sitting on my couch while I have my coffee or tea.
I pray usually in the morning when everyone is off to
school and work and I turn the tv off and talk to the
Lord for awhile, and throughout the day as the occasion
arises I praise, or sing or think of the scriptures. It all
goes into prayer, which is pretty much nurturing our
relationship w/God. Prayer is not just asking God for
stuff( as with Santa) it is more. Acknowledging him
for who he is, realizing that all we have he has made
and given to us as blessings. Just being still and knowing
that he is God, as the scripture says. Relishing a time
to be with him and treasuring our friendship with him.
Jesus said he calls us his friends rather than just
his servants. How can we have a friend we never talk
to or appreciate?

I agree. It isn't just asking Him for stuff...it is also thanking Him for what we have, sharing our thoughts and feelings and letting Him know how much we love Him.
Some ppl get upset when they pray for things that don't happen...as someone once said "Some of God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers". None of know the path we are meant to follow...only God knows that. So I tend to trust His judgement.

Hi There!
I agree with you, God hears us no matter where we are when we pray. I sometimes pray when I'm driving down the road or standing in the kitchen getting supper ready. A lot of times, too, I will pray sitting here at my desk while I am working. God Bless! :)

I do not think God can hear me, I know He can. It sounds to me like you are very methodical and logical about where you pray. I do pray in bed at night. I also find myself moved to prayers in the morning as I drive into the sunrise. I always have been, and I frequently have had jobs that required morning drives. I pray in church, and attend church regularly. I sing in the choir, and the music moves me to prayers and tears. Prayer is a daily adventure, not reserved for a special building or occasion. It makes a building or an occasion special.

I find myself praying to God throughout the day--and it does not matter where I am or who is with me. If I need to speak to him I just do so knowing that he will answer. As for going to church, I have to be completely, whole-hearted to attend. I don't want to be "those people", you know, the ones that go to church on Sunday and cuss Monday - Saturday. If I can't live the life, and at this point I can't be completely devoted, I rather talk to God in other ways.
Going back to church has been heavy in my heart lately so I may be going back soon.

I pray everywhere ..all the time. I just talk to Jesus just like He is with me..as a friend. When I am having problems with my designs and cannot decide what to do. I ask Him. And then true enough,..He leads me.
It feels good to be that way. You will never feel alone if you do that. He loves that when we do that.. so keep on talking to Him..You'd be amazed how much he will bless you..

I pray anywhere, at any time whether its driving in my car, or standing washing dishes by my kitchen sink, or weeding my garden. When I really mean business though, I get down on my knees by my bed just like when I was little. That's the way my mom taught me to pray, so I'll always go back to that when something is seriously wrong. I think God hears my prayers even before I know I'm going to say them.

I believe God don't bother to choose where we should pray or what so ever, he can hear us everwhere, going to church is for formality and for God to unit his people to come together to worship him.as they say praying together is stronger than just one...

Someone early on this post said they felt God is always with them so He would hear you no matter where you are. I guess you could think of Him as something like a shadow...always going along with you.

I pray as you do...where ever...whenever. I love the books Conversations with God by Neale Walsh...because whether we agree with all of the content in his personal chats and channellings with Source he has created an awareness that is is possible. The material also encourages others to pray with God...as you and I do. That view is something some fundamentalist religions do not promote...after all we all supposed sinners. Don't get me going on that concept or I might start 'Raia's Rantings' and that isn't they way I like to communicate normally.
So anyhow I love this post..and the gentle way is reminds us that within our spiritual connection to Source...the lines are always open. My Mom raised me with the belief that I do not need anyone to act as a mediator to intervene on my behalf. She said..."go and talk and pray anytime...the lines are always open. Then listen too...because often the answers come through others..or that Still Small Voice Within."
Lovely topic...thanks!

I stop and talk to God whenever the mood strikes me, I don't know if this is actual praying but this is what I do. He can hear me and feel me wherever I happen to be. Like twoey68 I pray while I bathe, this is usually my best time with my God.

God can hear you whereever you pray. But it's also good to go to chucrh every Sunday. Where there is multitude of guidance, there is safety. It's good to see and renew faith with God in the church together with your other fellow church member. I always believe that God will come back in His house, the church. But I also believe that the temple of the Lord is our body, so respect it, and care for it. He will come back whereever you hold Him in your life.

I pray whenever and wherever I feel I need to. Prayer is our communication link to our Father and it is necessary.
I used to work 1 hour from my house and I would turn the radio off and I would have the best prayer time driving to work. By the time I got to work, I was refreshed and ready to go.
God is so good.

Thats a wonderful way to spend the time. I bet alot of ppl would get closer to God by doing the same thing. I know my shower is a great way for me to get clean and have a good conversation with God. I always feel fresh and ready for the day afterwards.
