Can grandparents go to this cruelty?

Doctors have discovered 26 needles embedded in the body of a woman in China, believed to have been inserted not long after she was born by grandparents upset she was not a boy, state media said on Friday.

That's awful. Do you think they were trying to kill the baby? She must have had a hard life growing up knowing the family didn't want her. That's a hard thing to deal with. I can't imagine what that would have been like. People have no respect for anyone's life these says.

That is really sad to hear. Does that mean, the they inserted the needles intentionally? How can they be so psychic? They should punished severely and the women should live alone from now on.
