everytime we go on shopping, my husband make sure that he got a freezer bag... we always used it to put the meat properly inside the freezer... we divide the meat equal to how many pieces we will eat... from breakfast to dinner... it helped a lot... coz you will have to get those you will cook and it fix properly inside the freezer... we also used it for left over such as fried foods...
how about you? do you use the same?

I have ziploc bags, but I think the only thing I put in the freezer in those are hot dogs. Most everything else I use containers or clear plastic wrap.
I don't think it really matters what you put something in to freeze it, so long as it's covered up properly.

What a nice invention these freezer bags! We use them alot for seperating our meats, poultry etc into smaller portions. You just take out the size you want and suppers on! Take care JHoEn.

Hi there. We've never used freezer bags, we recycle and use our empty bread bags, all we do is, empty the crumps out and use the bags for what ever we need to freeze, then we suck the air out and tie a knot in it or use a twist on it... This is cost effective and does just as good a job as a freezer bag...

I do use freezer bags and strage containers! they are life savers for me, I buy and separate the meats and freeze them. Leftovers are good frozen, too! I freeze leftovers and use them the following week to save time. It also saves money, lol!

Hi jHoEn16! Oh yes, that is very helpful and practical in my budgeting our weekly food. I usually buy one week supply and I use freezer bags so I can divide the meat in the proportions needed for each recipee I am planning for the week. So, that I will just have to defrost whatever I needed for the day. Take care and have a nice day.

We don't use freezer bags in the hous. They're just not reusable that's why we stay away from them. We have transparrent tupperwares for use in our freezer. We can wash it and reuse it again, and again unlike freezer bags. It saves the planet that way. Less plastics thrown out into the garbage, less polution to the planet. Try it!

oh! but transparent tupperwares takes big spaces...and it wont make all the meat plus the seafood fit inside the fridge...i used it sometimes for left overs,.. only if my fridge are not full of foods and can of cokes and juices..

I use them all the time for all sorts of things. The zipper top is really handy.

We mostly use it to create more space in the fridge or freezer, it's more practical and convinient.
I also use it on other purposes, like for marinading, making a batter and mixing all the ingridients in it to avoid my hands from getting dirty and sticky, plus to avoid food from getting spoiled!;)

Yes, I always do, I think it is much neater and cleaner than compared with keeping meat frozen inside plastic containers (sure is easier to clean and handle with provided that it is defrosted). For left over food, they usually go inside plastic containers as the are much more convenient to just get out and microwave.

I always use freezer bags! I could not go without them, well not really because I have been out a couple of times. I buy the family packs of meat and seperate them so that I only have to take out what we will use for that meal. I also buy bulk pasta and seperate that, too. I store my fruits and veggies that I cut up in them too. I have seen on some TV shows to use a straw to suck the excess air out and it makes more room in the freezer, but I have not tried this yet. I also see that you can store left over soups and things in the freezer, but I would be afraid that I would spill it all over trying to get it in a freezer bag!

Yep. Whenever I go grocery shopping I like to buy the larger packages of meats and split it up into single servings. Usually I put them in sandwich bags (since a single serving is pretty small) and then put several sandwich bags into a quart sized freezer bag.

I shop at Sams Club and buy a lot of things that need to be seoperated so I use the bags a lot. Not just for the freezer either. All foods. I buy like a big box of pasta and seperate it into the bags as well.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~
