How much sleep do you need each day?

I think a person should have 8 hours of sleep every day. A person will be relaxed all day after that.

franckly, if i could, i would've sleep all the time!
but there is no spesific amount of time i need to
be rested.

Thank you for your reply. I think a lot of us would like to sleep all or most of the time but have too many things to do or get done. I sleep more on my days off from work. I took monday off from work and plan on sleeping quite a bit. LOL

I sleep for 5 hours every week day and more than 8 - 10 hrs on holiday whenever i feel like taking rest. I think 5 hours is more than sufficient to function well.

I like about 4-5 hours in the night and a siest of about 1-2 hours in the day, an hour after lunch. When I am overworked, and have not had sleep for more than 20 hours, I sleep 15-20 minutes every two hours or so. Those small nap really perk me up.

Ideally you should have 8 hours of sleep at night and about 1 to 2 hours rest in day time, this will keep your body in good metabolism and you wont feel burn out or tired or streesed. I feel atleast 6.5 to 7 hours sleep is a must and you should try to have 8 hours of sound sleep in night

The sleep we need is as per our body constitution.As long as we are feeling refreshed when we wake up,it does not matter whether we sleep for 6 or 8 hours.Sleep deprivation occurs when we are overly tired,stressed,or excited about something.

i sleep for nearly 7 hours and 8-9 hours during holidays.
if i dont sleep for less than 7 hours i dont feel like doing anything
