I clean out my closet and other places and any thing I find that I no longer use that is not damaged, I give to a charity that runs through my church.

Most of the time the clothes that I don’t want anymore, I will give it to charity as well. Those that are not appropriate to give, like maybe if it’s in a bad condition or torn or whatsoever, we’ll probably use it as a rag lol.

I give them to charity. If it's something I've shrunk I give it to my oldest daughter. :)

first, i try to see if i can give to anyone from the neighborhood, or from the family. then if there is no prospect whatsoever... give it to charity.

When we are here in the UK we give them to the local hospice to sell in their shops. When we are in the USA we give them to the Red Cross for sale in their shops. I feel that some charity should benefit from them rather than throwing them in the trash can.

i often throw them in the wastebox, although i will feel pity, but i can't find some good ways.
frankly, i think it is a big waste. i hope someone can make a company to collect the old clothes, and put them into some categories, and take them as materials again.
if i just throw them in wastebox, then they can't become materials again, because they are too dirty.

I usually take my old clothes to the collection box for the Goodwill, they have them everywhere in America. The clothes are then cleaned and sold at their stores or given away. I am glad someone else can use the clothing. They also accept furniture and books, it is a great charity and helps so many people.

If I can bear to part with them (I may gain weight and need these, this is back in style, Oh I like this, I didn't know I had this, etc.), I give my niece what she wants because she is the size I was before I lost weight. I have no idea why I lost weight but I went from a size 8 to a 3 or 4 so she can have whatever she wants. After that, I give them to the Rescue Mission or Salvation Army but I get mad that they charge so much for my old clothes. True poor people can't afford them and it's the middle class that go to those places looking for deals.
Once I took two huge bags of barely worn clothes and coats to a poor neighborhood and told the people there what they were. I expected them to tell me to beat it but they actually were grateful and I left while they were looking through everything. It was a great feeling and I will do that again.
