Okay...I was just wondering if any of you have done this out of curiosity....Have you ever simply typed in your name on an engine search..Google, Yahoo, whatever, to see if anything came up? I kind of found this a nice ego booster, as I had at least three whole pages of searches with my direct name and related to links to anything I've done with my name on it but a total of 142,000 links related to similar variations of my name--hehe..I'm famous!!
Try it and see if you come up with anything...Be nice to know if your famous too...LOL

A couple of other MyLot members have suggested this some time ago, it works fine for those with names that are unique or almost unique, bringing up discussions on MyLot and other sites as well, however with a more universal name like mine, which is used by countless others on other sites, and also has others using as well, its mord difficult for me to find things which I have personally done.
Even my own personal name which is nearly unique, I've found around five people in search engines, with my name, and almost all of them (including myself) have some connection with science or medicine, except for one who has written a biography of his father (a composer), and probably lives within about 20 miles of me. I just had another check on Yahoo, and found another me, who is managing director of a sheep breeding company in New Zealand which sends sheep carcases to Marks & Spencers (presumably in the U.K.)

Oh wow, I just put in brendakaya, and it said there was 1880. I then put in some of the other names that I have used on different email addresses, and stuff, and came up with more. That's pretty cool. I

GO YOU!
Well you know my name - it's pretty uncommon. The only things that come up is when I posted a question for the mod on a name message board and a few other things like that.

I've done this and all I came up with is a testimonial I gave a company where I purchased some woolen underwaear for my dad...lol.
A friend recently did a search on the town where I live and came up with MsTickle....lol. I had to explain to him why I was laughing so much. He had a great opportunity to really find out all about me but he obviously didn't get it. LOL.

I actually have done it several times in the past just to see what would come up and was amazed at how many things it showed on my name. Of course, when I first started on the internet and didn't know any better, I used my first and last name as my id for everything.

I have tried using my family name and a lot came out. I have tried to search out our roots and I have found out that we are scattered around the world and mostly that came out are politians, professionals. It's nice to know that we are many bearing the same family name living around the world.

I found only 5 that were really me, they were my articles.
The rest were of other people with my first and last name... which is odd cuz it really isn't common. But apparently this name lends itself to: a microbiologist, an artist, an activist, a musician, an enginier, some kind of weight loss surgery star, a parenting expert who oddly enough wrote a book with someone who's got the same first name as my ex who says we'll get married one day (freaky), an aura wellness healer, a ceo, a doctor, a femanist from Spain, marathoner, a cancer researcher, a pianist, and a translator (how odd... I'm certified to do it in the same language too!).
That is pretty interesting and I can't believe all of the great things these women have accomplished. Geez, kinda feeling the pressure now, lol.

Very interesting, pyewacket! I had no clue that my tracks on the internet would prove interesting enough for anyone to want to record.(: I guess that I can take consolation in the fact that I, at least, did not find anything negative about myself. This had been suggested to me before, but I could never get up enough nerve to actually do it. Seems that I am most famous for my contributions here on myLot and Yahoo! Answers. Don't quite like the fact that they give out my username though.
