I worked at Wendy's in Virginia Beach, VA back in 1986. At that time my oldest daughter was almost 2. She hated having me leave for work. I had to hide my Wendy's shirt. Whenever she saw it she would get upset and cry.

I had a cousin like that, he used to get himself so worked when his mother went to work he used to be physically sick, she had to end up giving up work, my own mother never went to work when I was a kid and I wa such a meek kid I reckon I would have been a bit like that...

I only worked there for about a year. Then I gave it up and did things like delivering newspapers and magazines. Things I could bring the kids along with me until my two daughters were in their teens. It is hard when you are a single parent. I was trying to make money, yet still be there for my girls. Thnkfully I had my parents. They allowed us to stay with them for awhile after the divorce.

I admire women who bring up the kids on their own, not an easy job at all, good on you...

Oh that is such a sweet story. I know you must have felt so bad for her when you had to go to work. I remember trying to go to college at night and work during the day. When my duaghter saw me pick up my bag for school she would scream bloody murder because she didn't want me to go. I ended up having to leave school. She is now thirteen and would love for me to leave hahaha!

Aw, sad. I worked at Wendy's for a while. Since I was very submissive, they gave me a pretty unfair workload, and sometimes I worked 12 hours days. One week was really bad, but at least I got 45 hours in. Also, one guy left so I offered to do the morning shift and put the stock away... but instead of giving me the morning shift, they just tacked it onto my day shift. It was terrible. Fast food is not the way to go. There are much easier jobs out there that can pay much better.
