I have been trying different cat litters with my two cats and have been searching for that perfect one that controls odor, lasts a good amount of time, and is easy to maintain. The last litter I have tried is Swheat Scoop because I was attracted to the natural qualities of it along with the fact that it is flushable, but it does little for odor control. I have also tried a few clay brands that are mediocre, and I tried the crystal cat litter which worked wonders, but it would not work with my automatic cat box. So what cat litters have you tried, which ones have worked best for you, and most of all WHY do you like/dislike them?

I use Arm and Hammer for multi cats cat litter in which I love very much because it hardens really good which gets all of the waste at once instead of falling apart and making a mess. It also controls odor wonderfully and I use a deodorizer from time to time in which helps a great deal too.

There are two different kinds so be sure to look at it closely so that you get the multi cat one because it works much better than the other one. I love it and won't change to anything else unless they go out of business which I don't forsee that happening

That sounds like a good litter to try. I have mixed baking soda in with my cat litter before to help control odor, it helps a bit. Maybe the real Arm and Hammer is better, lol. However, since you say it clumps good, i'll put it in my que of litters to try, thanks.

I use Pestell clumping cat litter. I love this stuff. It controls odor quite well, and is very easy to clean. The litter is very fine, almost like sand. I'm not sure how well it would work in an automatic box. The company's website is www.pestell.com.

Wow, thanks a lot. I've never heard of Pestell, looks like an interesting company. I checked out the website and I think I will have to look them up next time I am in the pet store. Sandy cat litter is great, it will work fine in my box, the crystals would not work right because the grains are too big and chunky to slip through the cleaning rake.

I don't have any cats now but there was a time when I did and I think I tried every brand that was available. I do think the best are the ones that have the clumping capabilities.

I like the clumping ones too, I like that fact I can remove ALL the waste, the pee and the poo, not just the poo.
