No need to say so much thanx because it is my duty and after all we both are neighbors right! India and Pakistan! and by the way if you get any type of spam or you suspect any email to be a phishing email then before replying forward that email to qadir5000mails@gmail.com and I'll reply to you after finding out about it because I have some friends how are associated with internet companies. In the email please include on the top that you want me to get this email confirmed as a spam because I might delete it if I think it is a spam so when I'll read your message on top I'll know that I have to get that email confirmed as spam and then reply to you.
Thnx and take care and inform your friends about it to.

When in doubt always check the details on Gmail hit the show details and most of the time these hoax's dont really come from "gmail administrator" as we all know you can make your name come up as what ever you want it to. If still feels iffy then do a IP check on the email, but like someone above said gmail or anyother email provider will never ask you for your password, the same with any other site! NEVER ENTER LOGIN INFO THRU OR VIA AN EMAIL ITS NEVER A GOOD IDEA!!!!!

It doesn't ask you for your password by email. Instead it links to a site http://gmail-us.com/mail which looked exactly like gmail so many users who don't know about PHISHING would fall for it.

Thank you for this inforamtion Qadir. Thank God I have not openned my Gmail yet or else I might have fallen into this thing if I see it there. Now I know that when I receive unsolicited mails that will ask me for my password, that is a red flag for identity theft. Thanks once again, and I look forward for your online storage website.

Your welcome, I thought that you must know about this because you are also using gmail and I read on a forum where 12 people had reported to have lost their accounts because of this phishing email.
Thanks for responding!

Thats a cheap spam mail. Good that you notified everyone as some people may not be able to differentiate between real and spam. All users are not receiving these mails, i haven't received as i don't use my best email-ids with any unknown programs so i don't receive any spam mails in it. I've got one email-id that i use for less important mails or even for junk mails for that matter.

I haven't received this email. Honestly, I wouldn't pay any attention to it if I did because I know administrators don't ask for passwords in emails. Also, they wouldn't delete an account just because you don't verify it.

I've seen this one float around before. I knew straight away that there was something iffy about it because they would never ask for your password. Unfortunately my friend at uni who has a GMail account, fell for this one hook line and sinker and cant get into her account now.
Thanks for posting about it coming back again.
