which do you prefer in scaring you, western or asian horror movies?
for me it's asian horror. the combination of silence and darkness in most asian horror movies gives me the complete feeling of suspense and i usually freak out when distorted and hairy creatures would pop out from nowhere. and by the way, the storyline and usage of sudden flashbacks and flashforwards make the movies unique and could be considered an art film.

I love western horror not because they're scary but I think they are more entertaining to watch especially the gore factor. I think in reality western serial killer movie is far more scarier than those White Ladies/Supernaturals or those type of things.

Hi there Gourd Breaker!
I find Asian Horror Movies much scarier. You're right. The silence and darkness do wonders in scaring the viewers and I guess it's added mystery when you can't understand a thing that the actors are saying and have to be really focused in watching so you can read the caption and not miss anything so that you will understand the whole movie.

Gotta go with asian horror.
Those hairy ghosts are much scarier than anything I've seen in western horror (sorry Freddy).
