someone know you but you dont know him/her

have you ever meet someone that they know you but you dont know him/her? It is some kind of weird to me. One day, when I walked out from my class and then this lady walked to me and said Hello and asked for this person name that I never know before and more over I dont know her either. I was like "huh?" i smiled right back at her and I said " Im sorry, you got the wrong person now... I dont think I know you before." She still kept talking and I was like " oh god, what should I say then?"
Then I just followed what she had and then I made an excuse to leave :)... have that happen to you?

This happens to me a lot. Not to toot my own horn, I'm pretty popular. Just kidding, I've always been well known. In High School I was the "freak" so everyone knew me even though I didn't know half of those kids. My mom works in a high school and she'd talk to some students about her daughter and they'd know who I was while I wouldn't have a clue who they were.
I was also good friends with a pretty big band in the "underground punk scene" so when I'd go to shows to see them all these people would know me. It was so weird.

Yes once I was in the bus and this old lady was looking at me for 10 or so minutes. Then she got us and asked if she can sit next to me I said ok. So she is like dont you know me I told her no but she insisted she knew me and my parents I asked how she knows them she told me oh they worked in such and suchto which I said no they didnt, so she said well anyway and she continued to talk to me it turned out that I know her grand son (but thats not how she thouth she knew me as I was very young when I played with him and she had never seen me before). anyway she was such a good lady I am glad she spoke to me.

Ya i just met this thing .i work at 8:30 wnen get down from bus,Have a girl catch me and call ,are you fine recently ?but i dont know who is her.haha ,i am clever At once answer ,i am fine and you?suddenly she recognize wrong with it,face turn on red,say.....i'm sorry then run out.

Years ago, while i was in high school, i was going out with my friends to our favourite coffee bar. There one guy, came to me and started to talk to me like we knew each other. I have blue eyes and he asked me why I have blue lenses and so... our conversation ended with me showing him my ID just for him to see that I'm not that girl he thought i'm.
So yes, strange things happened and will happen again :)

Yep.
I just pretend I know them, say things like "Oh hey! How's it going? Long time no see" etc. etc.
Usually they aren't all that interested in talking to you either, so after some generic conversation they'll head off. Alternatively, say "Sorry, I'm off to my next class, let's catch up some other time" or somesuch to get away.
