VMA Awards: Britney's Comeback?

Ok So I just watched the 2007 MTV VMA Awards and the comeback of Briteny Spears. I'm kinda torn here, one the one had OMG seriously? Worst drunken preformance ever!!! On the other hand... bless her heart, poor girl, what an embarrasing flop! The audience was litterally laughing at her, half of her peers were laughing and the other half had a look of half pity and half concern. The chick was stumbling around the stage almost tripping on herself and others, not really dancing and lip singing off cue a bit... and her belly jiggled as did her a$$. Now I give her props for getting back up there and trying to do her thing again and trying to get past the bit of he!! she's created for herself lately. And I can relate to that, sometimes things in life happen and we loose control and interest. There was something in her eyes tonight though, broke my heart a bit, she looks lost and like she's got zero self-esteem. I bet that's why the preformance sucked. You can't be on stage in next to nothing trying to shake your thang if you don't believe that your thang is the hottest one out there. Those are my two.. or five cents. Did you catch it and what did you think?

Yeah she does look a bit unprepared. One thing I wish she'd do, especially in this case, is put on more clothes. There's no need to dress like that regardless if she has a body or not. She could dress sexy but geeze, that's a bit off the charts. Having kids is even more reason to dress a bit more appropriate. She is going through a trying time and I hope she eventually comes out on top but she needs to work on herself to get there. She also needs to be more choosy of her friends too because a lot of them are sticking around just for her money which is really sad.

I totally agree about her friends, like the whole Paris thing, I think Paris only wanted to be her friend to mess with her image and have a toy to laugh at. She did need more clothes!

Oh my god! I so wanted to watch it here but we don't have that! Too bad! I hope I could find something on youtube later on. Anyway, was it that bad? I was laughing hard at the "worst drunken performance ever"! That surprises me that she would come back at this time because I heard she is pregnant again! I just hate her messy personal life, it reflects a certain kind of messiness in her and her thinking! I love quite a few of her songs though!

OMG... the whole time I was thinking she looks pregnant! He face is all swollen, her belly has that baby shape and her boobs were popping out so I wouldn't doubt it. Maybe she is? I hope not, that's just asking for trouble and especially with the way her life is lately. By who? Yeah you can find it on You Tube because I've already seen the video all over Comcast News online. It's bad. Some parts are ok but for the majority it's pretty sh*tty. She was supposed do take part in the finale too but they said she couldn't keep up in rehersals so they booted her. I kinda like the song. I felt embarrased for her, I can only imagine how she must've been feeling throughout it.

Yes she is pregnant but she said she would like to keep the father "secret" so she didn't really annouce who is the father. Sometimes I really wonder if she knows! Anyway, I will try to find something there, I would like to see the drunken performance!

What? OMG really, sometimes I wonder why birth control makers even bother because those who need it most apparently have no understanding of the concept. All the websites just kept calling her fat and I haven't heard any mention of a pregnancy so many a lot of people just don't know. I had a friend who's sister kept saying the father of her two kids was a "secret"... turns out she was a "dancer" and both times got pregnant in the VIP Lounge and the fathers can pretty much be anyone on earth who's visited that club. Poor Brit!

Unfortunately I totally forgot that it was on last night and would have loved to have seen it. I read about how awful she was and even her friends were quite stunned by her poor performance. She is truly a mess and does not appear that she will get any better. Hard to believe that someone who had so much promise could end up being so bad and just lost completely. She will not be selling very many more albums.

Have no fear.. you tube has all the footage! I do think that her preformance will hurt the album sales a lot. She waited to long and did her comeback at the wrong stage in her life.

Okay, what happened, was Sarah Silverman and Brit had it out like right before the performance. Brit broke down and was a mess because of the stuff Sarah Silverman said about her kids. Brit pretty much was upset because Sarah Silverman talked some crap about her two small boys.
So, I guess she had an excuse?
I mean, people have bad days and this was Brits bad day. People need to just let things go and let Brit live her life.
And who cares if her stuff was hanging out...?

Yeah, she was suppose to also performe with Criss Angel, but MTV backed out at the last minute because we all know what kind of stuff Criss does and they freaked because of insurance, from what I hear.
So, I mean, she pretty much winged it. I feel bad for her. I would of just walked out.

Yeah I read about that and the fact that the show she had rehersed wasn't the one they let her preform. So she pretty much last minuted it and in an upset mood.

Yeah I also watched it online. I did see sadness in her eyes and I feel really sorry. But people are being too hard on her. All this media and paparazzi and all this stuff is what drives these young celebrities into rehab and stuff. The song was really good I like it and I hope that she puts herself together. Yeah she does have low self-esteem now but she needs to be strong because she is really pretty and knows her stuff. I wish her all the best and she needs to work extra hard now to make her CD a big success.

Yeah it's one of the biggest reasons. It's like these people are just doing their job like every else. And so many gossip and stuff about them is being said. It is just sad. Even though the paparazzi are doing their job but they take it to far. Stalking celebrities and not leaving them alone with their family and making up stuff. It's just all so stupid.

I liked the song too and two others that I've heard from the upcoming album. I do think that all the media following and obsession with stars is what drives these young women into rehab and self destruction at such early ages and fragile stages in their career.

i jst seen it on tv today! it was not a good performance of her but all her friends seems to not mind it at all and they try to cover it up as if it was really a great performance. Britney even asked for the tape to see what she did on stage that time. i think it didn't really bug her a lot cause when she was walking on the backstage after she performed, the reporter asked her what she thinks about her performance and she just smiled innocently and said "it was good! thanks.." kinda little funny remark from her. oh well, i think she do a lot of late night partying and drinking with her friends lately. That would be the result now! :)

I just watched it and started a discussion... then all these other discussions came up after I posted and I realized I should have searched before I posted :)
Anyway, I thought she looked lost also. It was like she didn't put the time into practicing and she just royally screwed up. She should have worn more clothes, I agree with that too. I bet she would have felt more confident. Really, if she wanted to just get back into it, she should have worn a nice outfit, and sung in a microphone without dancing. Then she could have focused more on performance then trying to hit the moves.
I hope she gets out of this funk b/c I used to think she was good!

I don,t really like her new song, so I was hoping for at least a very good performance. I was so dissapointed. I watched the whole performance, hoping for something good to happen. The lip-sync was so horrible. And the dance was really boring. She was almost always trying to remember wath she had to do and like you said she really looked lost.
I red what you said about the comment of sarah Silverman about her babies. The thing is that when you are a professionnal, you don't have to listen to things like that. The show must go on. I'M sure that without the comment, it wouldnt have been really different. I don't think she's gonna make it. She will not be able to come back. Her career is over at only 25 years old.

I saw it and it was nowhere near as bad (my opinion) as you believe. She was more nervous than anything else and she danced far more gingerly than she has in the past. Her performance was lackluster at the very worst. I like the song and I hope she has a hit record and gets herself back on track with her professional and personal life. Everyone deserves another chance and she's too young to write off just yet.

I didnt see it, and glad i didnt. I have heard about it though. I think she has caused too much damage to herself with all the negative publicity . I dont know if she will ever be able to get back what she had. I have never been a fan, but i feel sorry for her in a way.

i saw the MTV awarding last night and i saw Britney performing. yeah your right she was lost on her performance!!maybe shes really drunk huh?i was kinda laughing too honestly and my husband keep telling me omg shes so thick!!but i really dont know what to say but i guess every person has the right to start a new life thats why she came back performing.

I missed her performance - but I heard it was pretty bad! Before this, I was thinking her career is over and done with. This might be the final nail in the coffin! Although that was brave of her to get on stage and perform after all the recent turmoil and criticism she's had in her life lately. If I were her, I don't know that I would have the guts to get back on stage quite as quickly!
