can you hold your temper? have you ever been so angry? well, i do have a very short temper and i usually get angry . i guess this has something to do with my high blood pressure. i get irritated easily, sometimes even at the most trivial issues or very insignificant reasons. lately, i've been trying to control my temper and be more patient but it is quite hard to accomplish. well, what about you...have you ever been in a situation where you were not able to keep your cool? what did you do to manage your anger? any tips on staying cool?

If a person does not get anger, he should be seated next to god. We are all human beings and have all the weaknesses of humans. Some have more anger and some have less anger. No one will listen to anger of poor man, but everyone will give attention to the anger of rich man and he is pacified. This is how the world goes on. Probably I feel that if they are able to get through the anger (meaning to say, if some one listens to their anger, it continues to be more and more anger) If a person comes to know that his anger has no effect, may be slowly he may give it up.
I feel it is not worth getting anger, so one should do meditation for 30 minutes in a day only to diffuse anger.

I also have a bad temper. I don't think it has to do with blood pressure though because mine is very much on the low side! I wish I did know what was wrong. My son is only 6 and has a really bad temper as well. He sees the school therapist about it. I like what they teach him and it is so basic that anyone can learn it!
One thing is that you think of where the anger is coming from. Are you angry in your head, heart or your stomach? You make fists with your hands. You imagine where the anger is coming from and feel it flow through your body, down through you arms and into your fists. Then you release the anger by opening your hands.
Another is the hot soup method. Instead of concentrating on your anger you concentrate on your breathing. You pretend there is hot soup sitting in front of you. You breathe in through your nose to smell the soup and blow out through your mouth to cool the soup off.
Then to make it better, rewards yourself every time you successfully calm yourself down by using a method. Eat some ice cream or a piece of candy, add an extra dollar to your spending money...whatever it is that will make you happy and make you want to do that instead of getting mad.
Hope that helps!
