Diabetes

My father is a diabetes patient since 20yrs back. Some of my friends said it is an incurable disease.will it be pass on to the children? If so, How can i prevent from this dreadful disease?

OMG i hope not!!!cuz im suspecting my mom is diabetic and ill pray shes not!but to avoid any disease just the balance diet. eat more fruits and vegetables, drink lots of water,thats my opinion.
