One of the things I love about traveling is seeing the architectures of different countries and cultures. I was able to spend the weekend in St. Augustine, Fl. This is the oldest inhabited city in North American, established in 1560 something. (Ok, all you folk from Europe and the Orient can quit laughing now.) Anyway, I love the Spanish architecture of this city. This was a hotel built by millionaire Henry Flagler, who built so much of Florida. It is now a 4-year college, one of the top 12 private colleges in the US. Included in the buildings is about $30 million worth of stained glass windows by Louis Tiffany.

Yes, one of the things I love about traveling is seeing beautiful, interesting or unusual architecture. I enjoyed seeing the houses with steep roofs in Sumatra. I liked seeing a pretty palace building there that looked as grand as a palace. In Germany I loved seeing all the amazing looking castles. I liked the architecture in Germany with all the half timbered Tudor buildings. In Samoa I liked seeing the fales, traditional thatched buildings. In New Zealand I saw all the Art Deco buildings. They had rebuilt the town after an earth quake. I tend to take many photos of buildings that I like the look of

I have seen some great bridge photos. They can be fantastic. I really liked one I saw of the San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge in the fog.

A sad trend these days is old building being torn down because they haven't been kept up, or the property owner wants to build something new. So I love to see older architecture when I have the chance. Going through parts of Virginia was especially amazing. But it even extends to places in the Southwest, which are very different than southern structures, but no less amazing.
