What is captivating is the honesty of Mariane pearl. She hasn’t given room for any unnecessary sentimentality in this book. She is sharp and practical. So many things have been said about the kidnapping and killing of her husband. But this is so special because it is very personal.

I have just watched the movie A Might Heart, which was dedicated to the story of Daniel Pearl and her wife, Marianne Pearl. And I was deeply touched by it. To be honest, the major reason I wanted to watch this was because Angelina Jolie was in it. I have admired Angeline Jolie for her charitable, humanitarian efforts. This movie is one of them. But when I was watching the movie, I have felt more respect for the movie itself, and the intent that it wants to share to the whole world. This is a story of a pregnant wife, having to deal with the loss of her husband, who was killed by terrorists. I have seen a footage of terrorists killing one of their hostage in a brutal manner. You would expect retaliation and vengeance and hatred. But no, Marianne shocked me even more by what she did in return to this violent act done to her husband. She did not give in. Instead, she showed the world that the only way to fight terrorism, is through peace. She gave us a simple, yet strong message of love. Love for her husband, for her child, for the whole world. She knew that there is no end to terrorism if we keep on fueling each other's hatred by fighting back. I think her making peace with herself for what has happened and not letting herself be terrorized as what her husband's murderers expected, has a greater effect than a nuclear strike or a barrage of bullets. I have great respect for Marianne Pearl. And I believe her efforts will pave a way for more people like her. In time, there will be no more need for war.

Thanks for that wonderful response which I thoroughly enjoyed reading.Infact i just happened to get the book and at present I am half way through it.I want to finish the book and then see the movie.Yes, Marianne Pearl does earn everyone's respect for the strength with which she has put up a fight to end terrorism. We need more Marianne's in this world to end terrorism and bring about peace.I hope more people read her book so that the message that she wants to convey to the world about love and peace gets across.
