I can only speak English. My husband speaks Spanish. In the 23 years we have been together he never attempted to teach me Spanish or any of our 5 children. I have always felt this was selfish of him because I would have loved to learn another language and for my children to be bilingual.

i can read, write and speak urdu, english, punjabi and french. i can also read and understand arabic and persian. it is a common belief that you can't express yourself better than in your own mother tongue because every language, despite having rules and regulations has certain characteristics which is only better known by native people. and to be proficient enough in other language you need a hell lot of time in order to know the historical developement and its complete usage out of rules and regulations.
