The first perk of my new job, I'm loving it already!!!!!

Well, as some of you already might have read in my recent discussion that I got a job and I was supposed to start on the 16th of September according to the Contract.
Well, turns out that the facility is still not ready, construction-wise, so I was talking to my new manager today and he said, it seems like we won't be able to start working or get any training before early or mid-october, but since the contract says my working days have started, I will still get paid.
At the risk of sounding shallow and lazy, I must say I'm already loving this job, I don't work and I'll still get paid, he he, even if it's just for the first time, could it get any better? Well, we'll have to see.
This is perfect for me, since the month of Ramadan is starting and the timings would have been tricky for me anyway, since I fast, so it worked out just right.
My guardian angel is doing a really good job, ain't he?

*laughs* Good for you and I am glad that such good thing happens to you! Oh, come on, we are not saint! Getting paid doing nothing (or things you love on your own) is really nice and I wish that could happen to me too *dreams*. Anyway, I wish you have fun getting paid and doing something fun at the same time! *smiles*.

yeah, I know, I don't mind admitting that I'm loving the fact that I'll get paid for nothing, but I'm still ready for the bashing responses, that will tell me the pleasures of making money off of hard work.. ha ha.
At least I'll get more time to practice my guitar, yippeee.

Come on! You don't need to be prepared about it, you need to be proud of it and feel lucky about it. *laughs* Because if you go around to ask people if they have the same experience, I am sure many of us don't! Right, you could practice your guitar and do something nice! I wish I had that *laughs*.

Now that is an awesome job, tell us, who are you working for and what will you be doing when you actually have to report in to the boss?
I'll bet they will be demanding since you are starting out with a paid vacation!

I can understand that. I started a new job a few months ago.
I put in for vacation, I waited for an approval. I paid for the vacation and waited for an approval. I was told I should not pay for a vacation until I have an approval in hand. Which will come 1 -2 weeks before the scheduled vacation time.
I think this is appalling since everyone I am going with has to schedule their vacations months in advance.

Celebrate any good fortune you get, because it may not last. I don't think this one circumstance would qualify you as lazy. Only you would know if you are lazy. And you may have to work very hard once you start, so enjoy this time.

Wow, that is great. There are not alot of places that wouldn't do that for you. That is definitely a perk. Yes, your guardian angel is looking out for you. I wish I had one.

Imagine a job where you do not have to do anything. Such luck, we all wish it could happen to us and to top it all off, to not have to worry about excusing yourself because of a religious holiday. It would be the same if we were told to go to work on December the 20th and then found they could not start until January 2nd, and by doing so, would not have to work during the holidays.

Stellar! Everyone should have such a wonderful new job. I wish you the very best and hope that once the hard work begins they will not expect you to catch up too quickly. At least you will be well rested, that is, if you do not burn the candle at both ends.

Great. Your must be feeling very lucky at this time. But, for me working is better then just stay home alone. This is because I stay away from my family and feel very uncomfortable at home. Most of my friends also stay very far and I can't meet team daily.
So, for me going to office and making new friend would have been more interesting and satisfactory. But, still getting paid for doing nothing is definitely a big perk. Perk before you join.

Hi vega83! You are one of the lucky ones indeed! You must have done something very good before that is why you are being blessed now more than ever. Where can you find someone new in her job and then is already on a paid vacation. haha.. Can you ask your guardian angel to give me a visit when she is not so busy with you? haha..Take care and have a nice day!

Hi Vega! Congratulations on your new job! Thats a great way to start out. I dont think you sound shallow or lazy one bit, its just how it worked out. What a blessing!
Im in the process of looking for work, have been all year and have been unsuccessufl.
I would agree with you that your guardian angel is working overtime in your favor. Would you mind lending them out to me for a bit? Im thinking of firing mine.....just joking people. ;)
