There are also lots of sites that offer free information on blogging. There are also millions of websites on the net with only a fraction making any profit.

Im making a good amount with my blogs, you have to be diversified in your marketing strategy to make money. A good blog with lots of visitors.

As making money off of a blog is a good idea. The point of blogging is not to make money. It is a way to communicate with other people and have a personal forum to vent ones ideas and opinions. Which is why most (I would be 95% at least) are not making money or even concerned about making money. Making money off of a blog would be like charging people for your random ideas and thoughts.

To make any real money off a blog you need to get A LOT of visitors to your site, which means you probably have to be spending a fair amount of time publicizing your blog.

In all honesty, I only started my blog(now I have two) because I am trying to get into the paid blogging sites. I belong to a couple, but you have to have a blog and show that there is some traffic comming into it. So I really don't know if you can make money off blogs, but I'm sure going to try to find out if you can.
