well as you all know,i have a new kitten and he is a seal lynx point highlander cat,and when i purchased him,the owner told me that he was almost a hyper allergetic cat,and that her and her husband are severly allergic to cats and this breed did not bother them at all,so i did the test.my sister boyfriends daughter who is highly allergic to cats came over yesterday,and at first she was scared because every time she goes by a cat,just the thought makes her sneeze.so she came in my house and sat there for 5 minutes and she was fine so far,then she said ok wheres yukon?she couldnt believe how cute he was,she started to play with him and she ended up on the couch with him and he fell asleep on her,she had no reactions what so ever,and she was so happy knowing that this kind of cat didnt affect her in any way,because everytime she goes to someones house she ends up breaking out and her eyes water and start sneezing.now she is so happy she wants one,and her daddy is gonna get her one.i was so happy to find out this is the best information,because i know so many people that are allergic in my family and my friends,this is great!!!

Oh wow! That is great to know 3lilangels! I am very allergic to cats, a friend of mine has one and even if he is locked up I still get sneezy, and my eyes get itchy and water a little. Would be interesting to see how I would be around one of those kind of cats! My hubby loves cats and has always had one, but we had to get rid of the one he had once we moved in together as I am very allergic. Thanks for the post!

well im glad i can help you out,if you ever want one please let me know,i will help you get one,these are the cats for you and they are so fun,beautiful and look so exotic looking but are regular house cats,the only thing is my male will be around 40 pounds and a female gets like 20.but their fur is like a tiger,its pelted fur and they dont shed.take care hon and hugs your way.pattie

How did you come across your cat? I'm curious because my wife is highly allergic as well. She loves cats but she can never handle them in any way. If you could let me know where to get one, I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

well sure no problem,i will help you out as much as i can,i got my cat from alabama and the lady shipped him to newark airport.he was $600 which was for the cat,shipping cost,health certificate,crate.if you want more info you can pm me and i will be glad to help you with the information and her website,i highly recommend her.pattie

Aww--Yukon is adorable...Wow, this is news to me, I never knew that seal lynx point cats were hyper allegentic type cats...that really is good news for people who do love cats but are allergic--Want to hear something funny--I know a pet rescuer upstate NY, and she rescues cats, dogs, horses, ponies, ferrets..she does live in a large home, lots of land, and a barn...she is so allergic to cats its not funny but since she loves cats so much she just puts up with the allergies.
Give a hug to Yukon for me...awww..geee, I wouldn't mind having him.. :)
Think my two would get jealous though

thanks for the sweet words,i cant believe that lady puts up with the allergies,but then again i would do the same thing,i love animals too much and i would rather suffer than them too.i will give a hug to yukon from you,but you cant have him lol hes my little ham.he is such a sweet cat and hes a loverboy,he loves to cuddle.take care hon.pattie

That's wonderful. I'm always happy to hear that someone found a way around allergies.
The only time I sneeze around my cat is when he either comes in from outside covered in pollen or when he runs around underneath my couch and comes out with dust on him.
Some people aren't allergic to the cats so much as what they get into, but some really are allergic to cats. Great story!

Some cats fur has that effect it seems to be a highbreed dogs as well,they don't have the dander that most cats have I found it odd that when we shaved are cat on the vets orders I did not sneeze thats when they found out I was allergic to cat and dog fur animal fur in general especially when shedding,so I guess the cat is a type for people like me thank you for sharing I am going to try and find me one I love cats so much.Have a great day.

if you need help finding one,let me know.i will help you out.i know the breeder very well,and she ships the cats all over the world,i had mine shipped from alabama to new jersey.take care.they are a little more expensive but well worth it and they live for 25 years,and mine is gonna look like a minature tiger.

Hi my new friend! Your kitten is adorable. I want one!LOL I have 2 cats right now that I got from the animal shelter. Maggie and Molly I call them the M&M girls. I bet your kitten was expensive. I think that is so cool your cat that people with allergies your cat wont bother them. How cool is that? Where did you get your kitten?

well first of all i want to thank you for adding me as a friend,i got my baby on line,a lady that breeds them in alabama.she shipped him to nj for me.he was 600 but that was for the cat,papers,and shipping and crate costs.its so worth it though.hes gonna be like a minature tiger,40 pounds the size of a medium dog.i love the names of yours thats so cute and sweet.my cats fur is like a tiger furs its pelted and they dont shed,pretty neat.take care and please feel better.pattie

Wow - that is such great news to know. Amd Yukon is so beautiful too. I think I told you in another thread about my friend Sue in the States, - her son really wants a cat, but her other boy and her husband are both badly allergic to them. Well she had been doing some research on the Net, and they are going to get one of your highlander cats too. She has found a breeder quite near to where she lives in Colorado, and will be getting one real soon:-))

I think this is great. I have asthma and find that I am allergic to everything in general. However, I have a cousin who is a clean aholic. She cleans constantly no matter how many hours she works a day. You could eat off her floors and she tells me her house is dirty. She had two cats, just plain cats, and a big dog. I could be in that house all day around those animals and have no problems what so ever. I also have a friend who has one dog and I can not walk into her home without sneezing after two steps in. Maybe this cat of yours doesn't shed and that is a plus for people who have allergies. There are dogs like that too. I am glad the little girl was ok around the cat and got to play with it. I am not such a clean aholic so I will stick to fish. They do not bother me at all. I am so glad that you are happy with your little Yukon. He sounds so cute and lots of fun. I wish you continued happiness with Yukon. I enjoy hearing about him.

thank you so much,and yea hes such a fun cat and he is so lovable,im glad you enjoy the stories about him.yea his fur is like a tiger furs,its pelted.you can feel the difference in his fur to a regular cat,its so neat.im glad that everything worked out with my sisters boyfriends daughter,now she can have a cat.

I am so happy for her. Now she can have a kitty and not have to sneeze..That is very valuable information for people who want an animal but do to allergies can't..Yukon is the cutest..I remember picking out names...That was fun...
