If you were facing homelessness what would be the first thing you would do?

I was there at one time in my life well actually several times over several years. Many automatically assume that drugs, alcohol, or laziness are the leading contributors to homelessness but in our situation it was a lack of affordable housing for a large family. We worked and the children went to school, church, and the park as if nothing was wrong...hiding the fact that we were homeless. We were actually fortunate in that we had a car. What would you do?

Well if you are about to lose your home and end up on the street the first thing I would suggest is liquidating your assets....Sell, sell, sell...keeping only the bare essentials...After taking care of that I would start looking into any programs available that could help us out...and chances are I'd go back to stripping to be honest with you..I'd not want to but if it means the difference between my kids NOT having a warm bed and food in their tummys or having those things then I'd definately do it...

Well today, if for example my husband lost his job and we lost our house, I would move in with my mother. It has happened in the past (got home to find all our belongings out on the street - thanks to the EX) and we had to get a moving van quick (with the help of my father) and moved in with my parents until we were able to move into our own home.
I am fortunate to have that option. Once my mother is gone I won't have that option, but then I will have more money so that kind of situation would not arise. I have a good support network in my family.

I would go on the internet and look for the Rainbow family of living light and go live with them. They will teach you to be houseless not homeless.
