Do you remember & celebrate birthday for your parents, relatives, and friends?

For me, I remember the birthday for all my family members, but I am not working in the same place with them, so I could only give them a call and wish them happy birthday.
For relatives & friends' birthday, I always try to remember their birthday, since here in China people do care about their birthday a lot. When one's birthday comes,we would get-together in a meal and give the one some presents. If it happens that we couldn't get together, we would normally give him/her call or a MSM for the blessing.
What about you? Do you have a habit of remembering other people's birthday? How do you celebrate it with them?
By the way, my birthday is Mar.21, please do remember to give me a wish on next Mar.21:)

I do my brain is like a diary and I always remember when someones b'day is coming up and send them a card if they are too far away, an e-mail, sms, call the or visit the. I have a box full with cards so I dont have an excuse not to send a card. and I enjoy that. and when it comes to people that are close to me and they live close I always get a present even if they dont celebrate their b'day.

I can not remember all of them, but I can remember some of the birthdays of my loved. Usually we do the same to have a birthday party and have a big meal to celebrate it with a nice and big birthday cake. Well, I hope that I can remember March 21st to say Happy Birthday to you.

Wow! Mine is March 20, never mind the year, hehhe! So we're only a day apart. Advanced or belated, whatever, andyliuzn. :)
In our family also we always get together for a dinner whenever one member has a birthday. It's one occasion I make sure we don't miss or forget because for me it is a special day for someone and it happens only once a year, like my mother celebrated her 72nd birthday recently and though I felt sad for a while because my father is no longer with us, it was still very much meaningful and enjoyable, especially the food. I'm glad I was able to capture it all with a camera.

Sorry to hear that you Dad is no longer with you.

My parents or in-laws in don’t know, frankly speaking even they are not so sure of the dates themselves. Both my parents and my husband’s parents are in their 60s and sixty years back it was not so much the norm to register births and celebrate birthdays. Some record was definitely there, but both the families (along with thousand others) were rendered refugees by the partition of India and many documents were lost forever. Regarding families, well to be very frank, we are not so close with our relatives that we celebrate birthdays together but yes, within the family, we definitely celebrate the birthdays of my husband and my brother-in-law. We don’t have cake cutting and such, but gifts are given and special dinner is cooked alongwith payesh (an Indian sweet cooked with rice and milk on auspicious occasions). My son’s birthday is celebrated too, but then he is just not ‘family’ he is the apple of our eye! His birthday is celebrated real big, with all cakes, balloons, ice-cream, friends...the entire show!

ha-ha-ha...ok Andy, here's to wishing you a very advanced happy birthday next year, March 21, 2008.
And regarding birthdays, it is also the custom and tradition of us Pinoys to greet all our relatives and friends who celebrate their birthdays. I can still remember my disc jokeying days where aside from love notes, birthday greeting letters I received by kilos.
And those greetings are on a daily basis.

I always remember all birthday from my family and my friends. I don't know why, it is just my gift to remember all their birthday. I didn't even have to write down their birtday or put reminder in my cellphone or what. When it is time for their birtday i just know it?
I always call them or send them sms or e-card.
So, your birtday 21 March :) I don't promise to remember your birtday :)

In my country we also celebrate birthdays - usually with friends or relatives. I personally try to remember the birthdays of my friends but it happens to miss a birthday or two. My friends also try to remember my birthday but not all of them. I guess for some people birthdays are events of minor importance. :)

Birthdays are for pagans. even though christians say they are not pagans they still celebrate all of their holidays. You are only born once not every year. Did Jesus celebrate his birthday? Or was it ever even mentioned in the bible that we should? No, that is right and to say "Oh its just a day to have fun", is just ignoring the fact blindly and willingfully.
