creativity and personality

Research indicates that personality disorders are no more likely to occour in the creative than in the noncreative person. However, creative people do tend to share some personality traits: they are more independent, rely more on intutive thinking, have a higher degree of self-acceptance, and have more energy. do u agree?

Hi Sandsiramesh, I definitely agree that the creative personalities are more independant, and use more of their intuition than a non creative person would. Could they get or have a personality disorder? Certainly they can. You see, geiuses are usually very creative, but mostly autistic, or with an other prsycological problem. The personality disorders could be due to genes, as well as upbringing, and the personality disorder of no creative people could stem also from laziness. But from where the laziness stems from , there we go again, upbringing, genes, or what?

I agree to a point. My creativity ebs and flows with my mood. For the longest time I refused to write or paint or anything because I thought it brought on some of my bipolar episodes. I was wrong. Everything is more intense when I run through a cycle but I can still create without being crazy. To some extent eveyone is creative to some are just better at it than others.
