For those that are unaware, she is a 3 year old little girl that went missing from a holiday home on the 3rd of may in the Praia da Luz in the Algarve. So far, there hasn't been a great deal released but now the attention has been turned to the parents. Who at the time Madeleine was abducted from the bedroom she slept in with her twin siblings, were a few hundred feet away in a restaurant. They kept going back every half an hour to check and the mum discovered her gone.
The parents have now been named as suspects and are waiting to hear what will happen. The file has been handed to a judge. The Portuguese police are claiming DNA evidence found in the hire car is 100% match to that of Madeleine, the hire car was rented by the family on the 27th may some 24 days after the little girl went missing.
The McCanns have been allowed to fly back here to England,
to recommend charges the judge must be presented with a formal report laying out the accusation, evidence and motive, the judge then has 10 days to decide.
Have you heard about this little girl? Do you think it is them?

I wonder if we will ever know for sure, sometimes the law likes to place blame to cover their own skins I think, I am thinking back to the Azaria case back here in Melbourne, it is strange one never knows what to believe, so many stories get started, newspapers print silly things and then the public judges without any real proof..so I don'r know it would nice to think they will find her alive but it doesn't seem likely now I guess...we can only hope as I hate to think a mother or father would do something so calculated...

I have just been watching the news and , it hasn't been confirmed if Maddys dads laptop and her mums diary have been taken for evidence. Though what it did say is that Professor Sir Alec Jeffreys, the inventor of DNA fingerprinting has offered to stand as an expert witness in their case if it goes to court. It has been reported that he said that DNA matches do not establish guilt and that all of Maddys genetic characters would be found in at least one family member.

I'm afraid I don't really trust the edidence in these sorts of cases as in the Lindy Chamberlaine case was blood that was found in her car and then she was sent to jail but when she was proven innocent it then came out that the blood wasn't what they said it was...

Well I am half hoping that the are trying to point the finger at the mother and father because it is such a big case and they feel they need to be seen to be doing something more.
I also hope that they are not guilty and if found not guilty I think it is terrible that all that time be wasted arguing a case and not spent looking for the little girl.
4 months is a very long time for any child to be missing but it has been know for children to re-appear years later. There was that girl recently in America that had been gone for years, she led next to a normal life then escaped.
