Okay, this is a long story. In 2004, around Xmas, a friend called & said she found this starving persian cat & could she bring him by. She gave me a lot of reasons, but I suspect its because he had very bad litterbox habits as we discovered. But back to the cat. He was so malnourished, his fur was falling out. He weighed 6 lbs, he should've weighed 12-14 lbs. After I found out he was a he, I told them his name was Bob, but the roomie said we had to spell it Bawb. I mean, this was one UGLY cat (well, remember his fur was falling out.) Now, I don't do grooming, that's why I prefer short haired cats so when his fur grew in, he still was a mess. I took him to get groomed & discovered that one of the groomers was looking for a persian cat. I didn't lie about his bad habits, but she took him anyway. She loved him, keep him beautifully groomed, got him so he seldom had litterbox issues, even dressed him up. This from a cat that would sometimes just attack us out of the blue - not often, but never did it to her. Well, I got a call yesterday from my friend who's cat was at the emergency vet. She was talking to one of the receptionests about cats and she told her about Bawb. The receptionest said that a friend of hers had a cat like that, & he went missing shortly before the time Bawb was found. My friend said that she thinks Bawb was the cat & that the lady should tell her friend that her cat was rescued & lived a good life afterward. Turns out that Bawb was Damian & a bad boyfriend who didn't like him let him out while she was gone for Thanksgiving. So, now we have some resolution on where Bawb came from & she has some closure on what happened to her cat.

Oh gosh! Poor cat!! It's sooo good to hear the happy ending though but that guy needs to be put in a pot of boiling water to feel what he did to that poor cat!! I'm sooo glad to hear that he did end up getting a good home. Damn people who harm animals in any way shape or form! That's why I will not donate to the march of dimes because they fund labs who use animals. That's not right at all and I don't care what the reason is for doing it. It just isn't right. Animals weren't put on this earth for our "use" but for us to enjoy or admire from afar.

I'm not sure what you mean by "afar." I hope you mean I can still sleep with my babies. I know Scamp would be most upset if you didn't let him sleep with me. (And Sassy's been washing my hair the last couple of nights - hard to sleep with someone licking your hair let me tell you!)

Afar means far away or in a distance such as wild animals. Oh no I wouldn't say anything about them sleeping with you. I have several that do the same thing. Such as last night I had 3 cats and 1 dog sleep with me all at once. lol I, too, have a cat that cleans my hair at night! His name is Chopper and he's such a love bug when he's around. But yes it is hard to sleep when he's licking my hair but I think it's his way of showing love. I'll put on a hat or something to get him to stop so I can sleep. lol

Well I'm glad that Bawb found a good and loving home. And having seen the photo, I don't think he is ugly at all! All cats to me are beautiful - they have a warmth and personality and strength of character that shines from within and makes them seem beautiful to me. It is good that the original lady found out what happened to her cat, - and I sure hope that bad boyfriend isn't still around, because if I was her, I would have kicked him out immediately for what he did to poor Bawb! Cats are for life - men are interchangeable:-))

LOL! Well I guess the secret is to find a man that loves cats as much as you do!! I think I got lucky with mine:-)) He spoils all my "babies" completely, and adores them all - especially little Lily!

That is a great cat story with a great ending. So nice to know that there are people willing to take care of mistreated animals and help them lead good lives. I am sure the original owner of Bawb was glad to finally know what happened to her cat. Nice story!

Its a small world after all isn't it...Well bawbs first owner needs to get rid of the boyfriend..Lol..that cat was very luckey to get you in its life and to get a good home...I think I meationed that a stray cat had come to my house and i was thinking of naming it ....Annie...Well this morning i was out on my porch, i have a large porch ,drinking my morning coffee, so here come "Annie" I pick her up and to my surprise this cat has been declawed..What a shock!so i started checking and i think this cat has been nutered and i think that "annie" is a boy...Whatever he/she is it is the sweetest cat..Now i don't know if she was lost,or thrown out,but someone took the time to have the cat nutered..so it seems just really happy to be here with us...I will add that she is getting some meat on her boney self and is looking good...It makes me wonder where this cat came from....

I'm glad that Bawb found a good home, it definitly sounds as though he had a much better life with his new owner. I hope the boyfriend got kicked out too! Its horrible to think what some people do to animals just because they don't like them.
