Talk Talk Free broadband, good or bad?

Has anyone out there got talktalk Broadband (the one you get free with the telephone package)? I have signed up for it and i am waiting for my modem to come, i have 30 days from i turn it on to cancel, I don't know anyone who has it, so i was just looking for honest opinions. At the moment i have Virgin media 4mb Broadband and it costs £25 per month, Talktalk have said that they give up to 8mb broadband (depending on my distance from the exchange) the representative has told me that on average most people get between 3 & 5mb. But was he just blowing smoke? i haven't canceled my present supplier yet as i am not sure how this changeover is going to go, any help would be greatly appreciated.
