I do have spybot and it is the free version Bel but I also have AdAware too. The one that I use most often though is AVG Anti-Spyware, and it too is a free version. It does seem to work well and I have set it up so that it runs automatically when I turn on the computer.
If you want details of this one, send me a pm and I will let you know where to find it. Good luck and I am sure that you will find one that works well for you Bel.

There are two different spybots. One is actually adware and can cause you to have problems if you ever use it. Apparently this is the one you have already found. The other is the stable and trusted Spybot S&D that is always free. The new website for it is here:

Just choose your language and you can download the most recent version which was released September 3rd.

The guy who invented Spybot, Search and Destroy believes in free software. However he has to make a living so he asks for a donation...which is completely voluntary.

Hello BELMCstar, I am not sure about a Spybot free version but if your looking for a free anti-spyware software I would recommend Spyware Terminator from crawler. Its totally free and you can download in from their site, spywareterminator.com . I have been using it for a long time now and found it very effective for my computer. Hope it helps. Goodluck!
