Why do People say America doesnt have culture?

America's culture is based on the melting pot. According to Wikipedia, "The melting pot is a metaphor for the way in which homogeneous societies develop, in which the ingredients in the pot (people of different cultures, races and religions) are combined so as to develop a multi-ethnic society". More info can be seen here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Melting_pot If you hear American music, for instance, you'll soon recognize that some lyric and rhythm are combination from different cultures (e.q., South American & Africa).

Maybe some people say that just because they think people in America are come from lots of countries,so they believe America's culture is mixed .But I think the mixed culture is another kind of culture. So every country has it's own characteristic.

I agree with you as it is ridiculous to blame the culture of a country may it be america or any other country.i strongly object those people who say this.If someone doesnt agree or wish to mingle with the culture of american people i think those people are very odd in their behaviour.

I'll tell you why. America is colonized country. Indians have a culture, but is't not US culture. They don't have their own language, just degenerated, modified english. They don't have their national clothes or music or dances or customs. But let's face it. US has les than 250 years, what would you expect? They have jeans, T-shirts, McDonald's, and TV preachermen. It's pop culture for sure. But it's not a culture. It would be an afront for countries like Italy, Japan, Turkey and many more...
