Do you have a favourite place to go for a ride? I love riding out on our farm, or going on a nice long trail ride. I much prefer it to going to an arena or anything like that. I find that boring. I could ride all day if i had to, and i'd enjoy every minute of it. What sort of riding do you do? I'm mainly just a pleasure rider who is more into the western side of things than the english. I'm thinking about maybe learning a little bit of english after i have the baby.

I love trail riding also, and the trail is a wonderful place to relax and have a good time. My true riding, however, exhists in the ring. It gives me a sense of "it's time to learn and work," but also gives me a great time. I know that I am not going to fool around in the ring, and that makes me learn more and have a better time. In the ring, I can practice on the flat and do jumping as well. Especially when I am prepping for a show, the ring is the place to be!

I love riding english. Then again, I rode competitively for awhile, and I feel like I have better control without having myself be so restrained. Western saddles are comfy for a reason, people feel more secure because they are a LOT harder to fall out of. They give you extra balance. Personally, I don't need it, so I feel kind of claustrophobic in a western lol. I like trail riding, but dressage/low jumping is my idea of a fun and relaxing ride.

I am fortunate enough to live in the middle of the horse trails in a national forest. I love to trail ride but had not been riding for over three years. Fortuneately our horses are very gentle and even after all that time they behaved perfectly. They actually seemed to enjoy it.

I am living in the centre of a big city. There are cars and buses everywhere. I can't find any place for riding a horse. I can just go to the Riding Club at the suburb. But it takes me a lot of time and money. It is too expensive for me if I ofter go to the club. This is one of the despair things in the city life.

I love trail riding. I am 48 years old, and 2 and a half years ago decided to get a horse ( I rode all my life, until my last horse was sold when I was a junior in college). My getting a horse, turned into three. I have an appaloosa, and two icelandics. I live in a rural community and am lucky to have easy access to great trails. I love taking one of my horses, with a snack for both of us, my camera, a book, and my journal. One of my favorite trail rides is down an old logging trail that leads to a creek, and Lake Michigan is off to my left. I usually tie the horse up and go down to the lake to ride and write. I then continue on my ride and go past an old Dutch settlement that is in ruins. I pass apple trees on the way, and pick some to give my horse as a snack later. I ride western. I tried an English saddle and an Icelandic saddle at my friends. I just feel more secure in a western saddle.
