I have seen many young girls are piercing the body parts like lips, is it good

Now a days I have seen many young girls in western countires and big cities in my country are piercing the body partd like lips and some time get infected and injury to the body, is body piercing is good?

there is always the risk of infection...and whats nuts is alot of young teens are doing the piercings themselves with a straight pin (I have two neices who did that).... My son was just asking me yesterday if he could get a couple piercings done but I told him I want him to wait til he's a little older (he'll be 14 in a few weeks)
