Do you think the polls on wwe.com have an impact on the storylines in WWE?

I don't know about you, but I'm a regular on wwe.com and for the past few weeks I'm thinking there are one too many polls going on. I participate in all of them, giving my own opinions, or choosing them in this case, and so I also get to see the results of whatever gets the most votes. I have been noticing a pattern, whatever the result comes out of most of the polls, is usually what happens in the storylines when it comes to rivalries and championships, so I can't help but wonder if this is just a clever way of finding out what people want and giving it to them. Of course this is just an assumption, since I am not really aware of the internal workings of WWE, but I strongly believe that it does make a difference. I know most people are like why is John Cena still champ, we wanna see someone else, but actually almost all the polls I participated in regarding that resulted in most people still wanting Cena as the WWE champ, so there are more fans out there than haters, I'm one of those fans, of course, and I guess that's why he's on top. That, and the fact that he is the best champ ever. Then there is the other side of it, the whole b@stard son poll, everyone voted for Triple H, and by the end of this weeks RAW, we thought it was him when he was the only one left standing in the ring, that is before Hornswoggle emerged from under the ring, ha ha, that was funny. So in that situation it was more like giving the people what they wanted to see, and they thought they got it, and then throwing them off completely. I don't know what you WWE fans believe, but I believe that this voting and these polls play an important part in the storylines of WWE, that's why I always vote, whether they wanna give people what they want or whether they wanna throw them completely off, I think it must be some help to the writers and managers. What do you think, do you think these polls make a difference, or are they just for fun and don't mean anything?

I think you are right. I've been hearing that also that the polls match what happens in the show. I think its a good idea. If they can keep giving the viewers what they want to see then they will keep getting viewers. Plus its fun to throw in little surprises like a b*stard son who is a little person.

Yeah, I found that funny and interesting too, the little b@stard, as they used to call him, actually turned out to be the little b@stard after all, he he. Most people don't seem to like that outcome, but I think it's pretty interesting.

yeah, I think they play an important role and they do influence the storylines but it doesn't necessarily follow that they give the people what they want all the time. I think they are using them more as guides as to developing storylines for WWE.

Yeah, of course, they're just guidelines, and I guess more like a survey of what people would want to see, or who they would want to see rise and make it big, I remember one poll like that a while back, it was about which superstar you wanted to see rise, and Jeff Hardy had received the most votes, and lo and behold he won the intercontinental championship right after that and he's still going strong.

I think they are fake and that the important ones are worked to say what WWE wants them to say. I have seen numerous pieces of evidence pointing to that. Some that don't matter aren't but the ones that do determine storylines (arguably the Tuesday PPVs where people picked the matches etc.) are usually rigged. But who knows, they DO see the results and they DO know what people are really voting for. However the flaw is that you can vote as often as you want so one person could sit there and vote 500 or 10000 times ie he or she was so inclined, throwing off the votes.

Yeah that is the flaw, but I don't think the votes count if you do it from the same IP address, the results remain the same, I say so because I've tried it, and haven't seen any tiny bit of fluctuation if I voted for something again and again. You do have a point, that sometimes those polls are worked so that everyone would vote for the same thing anyway, for example, the hornswoggle thing, of course with all the choices of what Vince should do, play catch, share a guiness, talk or give control of RAW to him, it's obvious that people would choose that. But then in other votes, like in one poll a few months back, the poll was about which superstar people would like to see rise, and most people voted for Jeff Hardy and the next thing you know he's on the cover of WWE magazine and he wins a championship and he's still doing quite well. There were other choices that I don't remember, but let's just say they didn't seem to do as well as Hardy after that. Ok, don't shatter my dreams, ha ha, I believe in Taboo Tuesday...

I think that the polsl does make some difference. I think the polls will change the storyline of the WWE. Maybe before they set some storyline, they hope to get some information from their audience so that they will always get supported by the audience. It makes them do less error that maybe lead to decrease in their audience. It's all only my own opinion.lolz.. Have a nice day! ^.^

I think the polls really make a difference because they come to know about who is in popular demand . I mean who has got more fans and who has'nt . I dont know the internal working of WWE but I think due to the help of the votes they have a clear picture of handling their business I love Cena too and i have voted for him many times , I keep voting often and I love WWE

The polls are a way for the WWE to learn what the fans are thinking! The outcome will usually follow the highest ratings of the polls. Afterall, the fans are the ones who pay their salaries, buying tickets, pay for view and all the items they have for sale. The WWE is an entertainment corporation and will always go with the fans on what should happen!

Yeah, I think they do that too, I mean after all, the fans are what makes WWE what it is.
