How can I clean my puppy's ear?

14 weeks old Labradoodle - This is our puppy. My son named him Milo.

We have a Labradoole with long flappy ears. One of his ear is really dirty, and I try to clean it with Q-tips, but not very well because he doesn't seem to like it. Is there a way to do it faster or is there a solution to help his ear? Since he is a puppy, he is really impatient to sit there for me to do the gently cleaning. Any suggestions?

I have a puppy too that have dirty ears. I tend to clean his ears with a cottonbud but he doesn't like it. So I tried a wash cloth and wet it a little thats what I used to clean the ears of my puppy. It appears that he like it than a cotton bud.

The liquid ear cleaner is good stuff. Also you can wet a wash cloth with warm water, wrap around your finger. hold the ear up and clean her that way. This is how I clean my dogs ears. Be carefull not to go to deep you can puncture there ear drum. Good Luck!

There like people. There ears just get dirty. Does she rub her ear in the grass or dirt?? Some dogs do this and get dirt in there ears. If her ear smells funky she might have an infection. Try to clean them, atleast with a cloth, once a week. Use the liquid cleaner on them as often as the directions say. If you think she has an infection take her to the vet. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much. Do you know why only one of his ear is bad? Does it turn into ear infection or something?

Moistened baby wipes work very well. I use them with my dog and she now knows when she sees that container what I'm fixing to do and comes over and lays her head on my lap.

Cosmetic tips may make dogs feel nervous and uncomfortable. You may buy the oil used to clean dog's ears. This kind of oil is gentleness, you can buy it from your vet or in the pet shop. Try to fill some into the dog's ears, shaking its ears at least 10 seconds. And then let it shake its head. After that, you should fill some water of normal temperature in the ears a few time like I said above. You can clean its ears when wash it. I clean my dogs ears by this way, I hope it can help you.

Hi,just seen your post,my dog also has ear problems, the easiest way is to get some cleaning solution from your vet or pet shop. All you have to do is trickle it into the ear and massage,it gets right down inside and when the dog gives his head a shake all the muck comes out.So stand well back. Also warm it first, for the dogs sake.Hope thats a help...
