Do we really die?

Good morning to all my fellow myLoters, I have a question for you today, do you believe in death? Now that may appear to be a foolish question, because we've all been told from as far back as we can remember, that everyone dies. As you must surly have guessed though, I'm obviously not talking about the body. How do I feel about it you might ask? well to be perfectly honest, I have never considered that this piece of clay was the real me. It never felt right to me. I believe that I am a spiritual being, that my life did not begin with this body, and that it will not end when this body returns to the dust. There is no way that I can prove any of this of course, at least not to another, But I've always had a 'knowing' within myself, that nothing has ever been able to take away. I'm not trying to tell another what they should or should not believe, that is not my way, bu I would like to know how others feel. Blessings.

I have always though we are being schooled and taught lessons for the afterlife..Our current little minds cant comprehend what is next for us. And i have to assume there is something better out there for us when we die.
at least im hoping im right cause otherwise this life is just a waste there has got to be a bigger better plan for us.

Well.Thank you so much for sharing your views here. I also have the same feeling that we are acutally eternal beings. Since my childhood, I had this belief that I won't die.Later in my life I read some religion scripture which make my faith sound and solid.
We all have the experience that the body is changing all the time. According to medical research, our body completely changes every 7 years.
WE were 5 years old, 10 years old...
But Where are those bodies now?
So the body is changing but that "I" do not change.

Hello. I am sure all of us we are going to die, our body wouldn't exist anymore (will be in dust). But I am also sure that we have a soul, so we have another life, a permanent life that we will enjoy it or we will suffer all the time, depends on our actions that we have made on the Earth.

Life for me is eternal. We inhabit different bodies over time but life goes on. In my view we never die, just move on for more and more learning. The body may be weak but the spirit lives on
blessed be

Well my own view is that when we die - we die - that is the end. I am not a religious or spiritual person at all - I think life is what we make it while we're here on earth - and then nothing! In my opinion, the only way we can possibly "live on" is in the hearts af minds of our loved ones wo think of us and keep our memory alive after we've gone. But that is as far as it goes.

Well this is a good question but also a undiscovered question. We all can only guess about it but can't make the exact answer to this question because no one knows what happen when we die. We have heard many things and many words related to this but can't make sure which one is the correct one.

I don't believe in afterlife or anything like that. I believe when we die it's an end. Shutdown

I've recently started using a chat program called second life which uses 3D avatars. Since using SL it's helped me to crystalize an idea I've had for some time. It's actually a rather old idea and dates back to at least beginings of Hinduism, our bodies are really just avatars for the spirits dwelling in them. I believe all the energy in matter and space has been here since the big bang, including our spirits. If that is correct then I have a problem with my theory, how did we become trapped in these vessels? Why would we need to relearn things we should have known since the beginning? Why have we done this to ourselves? Maybe we don't have souls or maybe our souls are completely new constructs that need to learn in order to join the Source energy. These are the questions I've been struggling with lately as I continue to develop my philosophy. Thanks for the post Pose123, I think it's a good topic in ANY section ;)

I've never been very good at accepting mysteries lol. This is something I feel I have a need to know, I think we all NEED to KNOW and eventually we all will know. In a way it seems odd and not that science is starting to bridge the gap between physics and metaphysics. Apparently our thoughts can influence the energy that makes up matter, at least on the sub-atomic level. Could it be because thoughts and the energy that makes up the universe are one and the same? Just the simple act of observing sub-atomic particles causes them to change their behavior into what we believe it should be, from a wave function to acting as a solid particle. If we could harness that ability, we could change the world, hopefully for the better.

Hi FireHorse, Thank you for your thoughts. I too believe that we have always existed. This is something that we are not able to comprehend in this present state, and must accept as a mystery, at least for now. I don't think that we are necessarily 'trapped' as you say, in these bodies. I think that we choose each incarnation and there is a very logical reason for everything. Perhaps we really know more then we care to remember. Blessings.

If you believe that our spirits live on in the hearts of others then you believe we never truley die. This is how I believe. My body may cease to be but my spirit never will. As long as there are people alive who remember the person we were then some part of us is still around. Heaven and Hell are not for me for I will only cese to be. Sounds stupid but it makes sense to me. To each their own.
