Listening Devices

I receive quite a few catalogs in the mail. I have seen a device listed in some of them that declares, "You can hear a whisper from across the room." I would be interested in knowing just who uses these things. Also, I'm not sure I would like to hear what other people are saying in private because there's an old saying that goes: Eavesdroppers never hear anything good. Would you want to listen in on other's private conversations?

The only thing I might want to listen to is the conversations between my teenage son and his friends. I might find out how much trouble he is getting into. lol I really might not want to know!!!

I have never really cared to either although I have seen these devices on t.v. and in magazines myself. I guess they might be good for detectives maybe or people who like to gossip.

I really don't like when others are eavesdropping on a private conversation I am having with someone. So I don't make it a thing to listen to people who are talking amongst themselves. If it was meant for me to be hearing it than they would be talking to me directly.

It's funny that you should ask that.I had that discussion with my boyfriends youngest son just the other day.
Seems like my "daughter in law"(I put that in quotation marks, because we are not married...or should I say not yet).....likes to listen in on other peoples conversations. You can go from our bedroom right in to the bathroom and the same from the other side.So anyway.....my bf and his youngest were in the bedroom talking(with the doors closed) and Kristy(wife of the oldest son) was in the bathroom. She happened to hear her name being said....so she pretended to leave the bathroom....but really stayed in there to hear what was being said. How do I know this you ask.....she had the nerve to tell me about it and acted like this was a normal thing to do.I told her that I didn't think that was very nice....since it was a private conversation and it was really none of her business.
So she's one of those type of people that would most likely use one of those things.
We have a saying in germany that goes as follows...Der lauscher an der wand, hoehrt seine eigene schand.Basicly what that means....the eavesdropper at the wall, hears their own dishonor......it just sounds better in german...since it rimes.
